Aegis Force: The Scorian War is a turn-based tactical RPG inspired by such classic in the genre as Shining Force, Fire Emblem, and Final Fantasy Tactics. Players will follow the main protagonists, Callon Roth and Orvus Magnaric, as they fight as heroic soldiers in the Genuan army during the long-lasting and embittering Scorian War. This is a story-driven single-player game using turn-based tactical combat as players take turns with the enemy party navigating across a grid to perform actions and strategically place themselves to defeat them. Players can team-up with other party members to perform powerful and stylized tech attacks in addition to normal attacks and spells.

Aegis Force is created in a pixel art style reminiscent of the golden age of JRPGs, and features a 2.5D camera style, similar to Octopath Traveler. It takes place on the continent of Ianua, where two main countries reign: Genua -- masters of the magic arts, and Turameign -- masters of technology. These two powerful countries have been at war with each other for decades -- referred to as "The Scorian War" -- though nobody can remember exactly why it started. The continent of Ianua is full of all variety of races, monsters, and fantastical creatures which will be discovered during the player's adventures. The journey of Callon and Orvus begins as young members battling within the Genuan army, but soon becomes something much larger as unexpected twists and turns take the befriended antagonists down a path that they never could have imagined, and will either lead to the end of the Scorian War, or the end of its inhabitants.
