About Joe's Diner

Somewhere along the venerable Route 7, in the middle of nowhere, you will find Joe’s Diner. As an employee working the graveyard shift for the next month, your primary task is to keep the tables clean – no tough challenge at all.

Unfortunately there’s a rub to it. The old Diner was built on the site of a former Indian cemetery. Amongst the buried, two rival chieftains are laid to rest; while alive each could not stand the other.

One chieftain endeavors only to rest in peace. The other, a prankster both in life and the afterlife, is prone to ruffle the feathers of his fellow chief.

Besides your tasks as a waiter, it’s up to you to keep things calm and not incur the angry chieftains’ wrath. To lay them both to everlasting rest just do your duty. Sounds easy but it’s not – promised.

Features

  • Work over 30 night shifts as a holiday replacement in Joe’s Diner
  • Keep things calm to not incur the angry chieftains’ wrath
  • Atmospheric graphics with fantastic lighting
  • Innovative gameplay
  • Deactivate all objects after the chieftain does his monkey business
  • Premium sound scenery and effects
  • From the makers of “Pineview Drive”

Joe's Diner is a first-person horror experience developed by VIS-Games and published by United Independent Entertainment that transforms an ordinary roadside restaurant into the setting for an unsettling supernatural tale. Rather than relying on elaborate monsters or action-heavy gameplay, the game focuses on psychological tension and environmental storytelling. The premise centers on a quiet diner constructed above an ancient Native American burial ground, where the spirits of two rival tribal chieftains continue their feud long after death. As the newly hired night-shift worker, your seemingly routine cleaning job becomes increasingly dangerous as paranormal activity escalates with every passing night. The concept immediately stands out because it combines everyday responsibilities with an eerie ghost story, creating an experience that feels both familiar and unnerving. The core gameplay revolves around surviving more than thirty overnight shifts while keeping the diner in proper condition. Players must clean tables, collect trash, and restore order whenever supernatural disturbances occur. Objects mysteriously move, furniture is displaced, and strange events constantly interrup…

Feels like the kind of game that could have gained some traction if it had been released about 7-8 years earlier, for free. As it is though, the sheer simplicity and repetitiveness of things is too much for me to even consider it as autistically appealing in the same way that proper mundane task simulators are. It also doesn't help that even if you can get some satisfaction from optimizing your routing and priorities, beating the last 5 or so levels is largely reliant on RNG on top of that skill, which kills that satisfaction altogether, though I suppose that's what a lot of people were looking for in horror games around the time this released. The tags on the store page also baffle me as they totally misrepresent ths kind of experience this is.

A game where you have to do the same thing for 30 days, while turning off the noise sources so that the evil ghost of the Indian doesn't end your game. The first 3 levels were even interesting, but then it became monotonous and all the fun disappeared. Yes, the amount of garbage to clean increases with each day, and after the 10th day, the ghost starts setting traps for you, but that doesn't change the fact that the game becomes boring. I recommend purchasing it only when it's on sale.

Joe's Diner is the most vapid and boring survive the night game I've ever played. The gameplay consists of spamming the E button to pick up trash left behind by customers and occasionally turning off devices like a jukebox or grill to reduce a noise meter. You can only pick up one item at a time which just increases the soul crushing monotony of running back and forth from table to trash can. There is no depth to the mechanics and the game doesn't evolve in any way after 9 rounds. Item and noise placement seems random with no sense of progression or higher difficulty after each successful night. Graphically, the game looks dull with bland textures and assets that feel lifted from a pack on the unity store. Window reflections were broken and constantly warped or stretched while moving throughout the diner. The exterior of the building was just as lifeless with no NPCs or events to add some variety to each shift. No tension is felt from failing to reduce noise levels or complete tasks in time. Should you lose, the developer shoves a .jpg of a Native American in your face followed by a generic game over screen. A soulless experience that should have been free on Steam as a proof of…
