Substance Painter, especially alongside Substance Designer, is simply indispensible for game development. Very happy there's still this single purchase version, free from Adobe subscriptions and slop.1 found this helpful

I don't like Adobe, but I can say as a one time purchase, if you're a modeler, you'll get a lot of milage out of this. Even more stuff online like materials and textures people made that are up to grabs. Please learn how to unwrap models though, the auto-unwrap is TERRIBLE. If on sale(Never is) I'd get it, but it's an ouch worth it sort of. Unless you hate adobe, don't get this then. I'd suggest doing something else, but... look... I won't judge...
I'm too late to mod many newer avatars for VRC, but this Steam edition of Substance was great when I had used it to modify skin textures and jewlry textures.
I hate this thing so much. Yet it's the only thing that is decent on texturing.
