The Ring of Truth, developed by Useless Machines and published by SA Industry, is a small-scale narrative adventure that leans heavily into mystery, introspection, and environmental storytelling. Built around the framework of a walking simulator, the game places players in the role of a son retracing the footsteps of his father inside a deserted factory. The setup is immediately intriguing, presenting a deeply personal mystery centered on family ties and unanswered questions. Rather than pursuing spectacle or intense gameplay systems, the title focuses on creating an emotional journey that unfolds through careful exploration and observation. From the moment players enter the abandoned industrial complex, the game establishes a subdued and lonely atmosphere. Rusted equipment, empty hallways, and forgotten workspaces create the impression of a place frozen in time. The setting itself becomes one of the game's strongest narrative devices, quietly telling its own story alongside the central plot. The visual presentation is modest by modern standards, but it effectively conveys the mood the developers were aiming for. Combined with ambient sound design and a restrained musical score, t…

Sorry but this is a pretty mediocre experience and definitely not worth $11,79 CAD (though it does go on sale for 90% off which to be honest is about as much as I'd somewhat comfortably pay for an experience like this) The Good: - Other reviewers have made complaints about the visuals but honestly, for an indie game, I was quite pleased with it and they did a pretty good job setting up the atmosphere of an abandoned remote train factory. - The soundtrack I have to say is pretty nice and calming, good work by Alexander Hoff and Dylan Owen (though I found it kind of funny that they sort of copied the melody of the Daredevil show's intro music for one of the tracks) - They are at least open about the game's mechanics in the game's description The Bad: - While I'll admit that I'm not the most observant in these types of note-based story exploration games, it was still quite difficult finding all the recordings and objects to the point where I kinda got bored of continuously circling around the entire place. - The "recordings" (which are just written notes) contain a good deal of grammatical mistakes and weird phrasing. - While the story unfolds "de…

I've never played a walking simulator before but this felt like a horror game to me. I got jumpscared a couple of times by random loud noises, and the atmosphere is creepy. I don't know if this was the purpose but it very much prevented me from getting into the story. If you buy this, buy it on sale

Cool game, but not worth the 8 dollars. I got it from a cheap random steam key. A good relaxing 1-2 hour game
