In the years following the conclusion of AGE OF FEAR 3: THE LEGEND, a surging tide of criminal activity has thrown the realm into disarray. The rival gangs of the Iron Five have risen to prominence, leaving little in the way of peace or security in King William's lands. It's in this climate that the recently-graduated Vampire Hunter Angela embarks on a quest into corruption and murder after her inaugural hunt takes an unexpected turn. Along with her companion Nazell, Angela will go head-to-head with the criminality that threatens to sink the realm into its deepest Age of Fear!

Cast a spell and whoop... you disappeared. However, the AI can do it too.⭐HEX-FREE BATTLES - test your tactics with a novel movement system where size matters and units aren't constrained by artificial grids!⭐OPEN WORLD - are you bored with the main storyline? No worries, you can always take a side-quest or play procedurally-generated battles. Play this game as you want!⭐GLOBAL EVENTS that occur while exploring the World Map, à la Battle Brothers. This feature is still being developed and could serve to provide more lore and fun unit interactions conditional on the player's party!⭐FACTION BASES which can be upgraded as you explore the Age of Fear world. Investing in base upgrades will unlock additional recruitable units, skills and locations to explore⭐MERCENARIES - recruit your troops from multiple races and factions! Will a Dwarven Warrior work with a bloodthirsty Orc?⭐ALIGNMENTS such as Evil and Holy. Units from opposite sides won’t like each other and may desert. A bit of diplomacy (or charisma!) is needed to manage such relationships.⭐EXTENDED STORY including many sub-quests, optional events, alternative endings, more detailed lore, etc.⭐FREQUENTLY UPDATED - we take our work seriously and patch our games often with new features and content. What sets Age of Fear series apart from many others are that the Devs do more than add periodic patches. They add new gameplay options that shakeup (in a positive way) the mechanics. When I played the first one, there was no Stealth, no Pushing, no crafting and no open world with random and special abilities for units beyond counting. These abilities fundamentally alter how they play. For instance wolves with their hit & run mechanic, making what once was mere cannon fodder, viable skirmishers. Its refreshing to come back after a hiatus and discover something new. This is definitely a labor of love and Age of Fear 4: The Iron Killer is no different. What makes this particular game is the main character, Vampire Hunter Angela. A pistol packing mama with a voice accented with a Southern drawl that would normally be out of place in a fantasy setting, fits the character to a T. She's sassy but respectful when situation requires it. She has a lopsided sense of humor but sober and serious, when the situation requires it. I was a big fan of this series and was very excited when this one came out, and bought it immediately, but the disappointment kept me away from this game for years. I feel I got fooled that I spent the money only to read a story without barely any improvement from previous one, and the story is really boring. I was so disappointed that I uninstalled the game immediately when I "find out who is the iron killer" that I even forgot to give a comment. Here it is today. Sometimes this game is at discount 70% or higher, that is maybe when a good time to consider purchase2 found this helpful

Awesome game fr fr This is the only age of fear I've played (apart from the free world) and imo the fishmen are okay, but I personally didn't use them much. I mean yeah, I have 2 Sea Diver Warriors (the only useful upgrade because you can just buy the Fisher from the beginning and it isn't very useful either) and 1 mermaid which I bought at the beginning but I also have 4 elementals (free) doing stuff along with 4 clerics I found randomly (free). So I only recruited 3 troops...... until I had 2 empty slots that I filled with Archer Nagas, but that's about it. If you're even looking at this game you almost certainly like tactics RPGs. If so, just buy the game. Has a fun world and ambience, great progression and unit customization, and a huge spread of units that you can "recruit" (depending on the faction, usually means abduct).
