Burger Patrol is a match-3 game where the gameplay loop revolves around combining ingredients in the correct order to assemble burgers, which rewards players with extra points and additional fuel. This fuel bar acts as a soft timer, while the mechanic of creating burgers introduces an extra layer of strategy beyond standard matching, making the gameplay feel more strategic and skill-based. Presentation is modest but effective. The art style, sound effects, and visual feedback are simple yet pleasant, contributing to an experience that feels polished despite its minimalist scope. Multiple game modes, including timed variants and fuel-limited endless runs, provide some variety and encourage different playstyles. Leaderboards further support replayability for those chasing high scores. Overall, Burger Patrol is a solid and enjoyable puzzle game that offers a refreshing variation on the genre. A title with tight gameplay and strategic depth that makes it worth playing for fans of the genre.
The Good
+ Fresh take on the match-3 genre by mixing Tetris-like mechanics with a fuel system + Building burgers in the correct ingredient order adds a new layer of strategy to a…

Update 7/11/25: The developer has addressed the issues outlined below and made the achievements more realistically attainable. Original Review: I love the aesthetic and gameplay. The sci-fi + food ingredient spin on an item matching game feels fresh, unique, and fun. I've been playing for 4 hours and was about to leave a positive review, but then I took a look at the achievements.... Based on the descriptions and % completed, the most difficult achievements are: (a) 10,000 Regular burgers (b) 5,000 Super burgers (c) Complete 1,000 missions (d) Pet the dog 100,000 times I estimated the time it would take to get these achievements from my experience so far: (a) and (b): On average, I’m completing a Regular Burger every 1.5 minutes and a Super Burger every 2.5 minutes. The math works out to 250 hours for 10,000 Regular Burgers and 210 hours for 5,000 Super Burgers. I don't think they stack either (like a super burger doesn't count towards the regular burger goal), so they're independent time commitments. That’s just an insanely unrealistic amount of time to commit to this game. (c) 1 mission takes 1 to 3 minutes, so an average of 1.5 minutes per mission is 25 hours to complete 1…

Good music, fun sound effects, making burgers is tricky but satisfying, and cheap as hell - must buy for arcade game lovers

This game is not that bad. It does some neat things that could, and should be expanded upon in future games. And it was clearly made with a lot of care. All that being said, it ruins all the good things with a few bad things. The burger mechanic is really fun, but the generic matching of the non burger elements usually ruins it, either by making it irrelevant, or by clearing out the ingredients you were trying to stack on the burger. And it just, doesnt seem to matter what you are doing at any given time. I'm not even sure if you have to make burgers, and everything feels so slow paced. The controls are also terrible and non remappable, I guess they're designed to be ambidextrous which is fine but "A" should switch the piece not hard drop, end of story. The powerups are too frequent, and not very fun. Everything is here to make a sort of Overcooked/Baku Baku hybrid game, and I love the idea, but it really just doesn't come together, and isn't even worth the two dollars I paid. If the dev responds and is like "yeah I'm making a bigger better version" I will repurchase the game to support them, but I can't recommend the game as a fun way to pass time in the present.

Burger Patrol, developed and published by Vagabond Dog, is a quirky and fast-paced puzzle arcade game that fuses retro simplicity with absurd humor. The premise is immediately charming in its silliness—you’re essentially building hamburgers in space, using ingredients that double as the ship’s fuel source. It’s a game that doesn’t take itself seriously, but beneath its comedic veneer lies a polished and surprisingly engaging puzzle system that rewards reflexes, spatial awareness, and the satisfaction of chaining combos. Vagabond Dog, best known for its indie experiments, demonstrates once again a knack for blending humor and solid design in a way that’s both accessible and addictive. The gameplay revolves around matching falling tiles of burger ingredients—patties, lettuce, cheese, buns, and sauces—to create fully assembled burgers. Each completed burger clears part of the board and fuels your spaceship, preventing it from being crushed by the ever-rising stack of ingredients. It’s a concept that pays homage to arcade classics like Tetris or Dr. Mario, but with a culinary twist and a much more playful aesthetic. The rules are easy to grasp, but as the ingredients fall faster, the …
