It feels like a very unpolished version of a game that could be something worth while, but in its current state just frankly isnt. Its a platformer where you have to move downwards with fall damage, but all the mechanics feel clunky. The levels feel too big from the get-go. Unlike giants of the genre like Super Meat Boy (which I completed) it lacks the onboarding process. The game starts out being frustrating immediately, there is no progression to it. Very much designed for gamepads, you cant even click the "OK" boxes in the tutorial without pressing tab and then enter to actually play the game (Tutorial is required to play the normal game). No engaging story, no engaging music, no engaging graphics, it overall feels very much like a beta build that was just pushed out because someone couldnt be bothered further devving it. Not worth my time and probably also not yours, if the developer didnt spend the time on it to actually finish his game. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles. If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)

Игра "Gekraxel" – это удивительно затягивающий коктейль из головоломки и платформера, где каждое движение имеет значение. Визуально игра выполнена в минималистичном, но приятном для глаз стиле, что позволяет полностью сосредоточиться на игровом процессе. Главный герой, маленький робот, должен преодолевать уровни, используя свою способность притягиваться к поверхностям. Механика притягивания реализована просто, но гениально. Освоить её легко, а вот мастерски использовать – задача не из простых. С каждым новым уровнем сложность возрастает, заставляя вас применять логику и быстро реагировать на изменяющиеся обстоятельства. Игра буквально вынуждает думать "из коробки", предлагая нестандартные решения для каждой головоломки. Саундтрек в "Gekraxel" отлично дополняет атмосферу, создавая ощущение напряжения и сосредоточенности. Несмотря на кажущуюся простоту, игра обладает глубоким геймплеем и способна увлечь на долгие часы. Рекомендую всем любителям интеллектуальных вызовов и тем, кто ищет оригинальную и захватывающую игру. Это определенно один из тех инди-проектов, который заслуживает внимания.

The concept of scaling difficult terrain with precise movement is interesting, but the execution is clunky, making it more annoying than rewarding. The biggest issue is the physics—movement feels inconsistent, with jumps and grabs often failing in ways that feel unfair. The level design lacks creativity, relying on repetitive obstacles rather than interesting challenges. The graphics are basic, and while they get the job done, they don’t add much personality to the game. There’s some fun to be had if you enjoy frustrating, trial-and-error platformers, but Gekraxel doesn’t offer enough depth or polish to stand out. It feels like a rough prototype rather than a fully realized game.

I couldn't even play the game when I started the game and entered my nickname the game just gives the message “sorry, something went wrong” and that's it, you can delete it.

Fantastic game. It is really easy to learn and the game mechanics are wonderful! Overall a really fun game that you can play at anytime in the day. :D
