About Gemini Wars
Decades have passed since war erupted between the United Space Federation and the Alliance of Free Worlds. A bloody conflict that seemed to have reached a stalemate is now about to change, when a third faction suddenly appears.
Take control of a fleet commander returned from exile, rise through the ranks of the United Space Federation forces and join an epic war across the stars. Start with a small group of
frigates, and climb your way to controlling battleships, carriers and planetary bases, in huge space battles and boarding actions. Build space stations and orbital facilities to fortify
your position, build your fleet, extract minerals and research upgrades. Execute boarding actions using marine special forces, and bombard your enemies with orbital long range cannons.

Gemini Wars is an older game from 2012. It's a venerable 12 years old at the time of this review. From the visuals you would probably expect this is some kind of awesome Homeworld inspired 3D space RTS... and you'd be wrong. This is a 3D rendered 2D "dumbed down" RTS that plays a bit more like a node attack/defense game than a real RTS. And this lacklustre, disappointing game design is matched by an equally underwhelming low implementation quality. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. The developers didn't design the game for modern gaming PCs, as such the display resolution caps out at around 1440p, there's no support for the state-of-the-art 4K or higher resolutions. The game simply won't look right on modern gaming displays due to this failure on the part of the developers. It also looks a little funny if you view the game in widescreen... not sure if that's deliberate or they just never tested it on widescreen. These tech…5 found this helpful
Total disaster from start to end.2 found this helpful
This one hits the nostalgia, even though the game isn't that old. The story and the atmosphere are spot on, like a predictable 80's scifi movie. The gameplay isn't very fast-paced, so you need to take things slow. But you probably know the drill: expand, build ships, research bigger ships, build bigger ships, attack the enemy.1 found this helpful
A terrific game in the grand Homeworld tradition with an interesting story. However some levels are fiendishly hard. Don't be afraid of changing it to easy mode in order to help increase your chances of living through the first ten minutes of overwhelming forces. Remember knocking out their mining stations will remove their advantage. Good luck.1 found this helpful
so basically this is a fkn horrible time most of the time for me the breaking point is the random cut scenes in the middle of the missions. if you accidentally left click and skip it you will break the mission and these happen alot forcing you to remember when the scene starts and whats going to happen if the scene spawns the bad guys they wont spawn if you skip and mission will just be in limbo supposed to get control of something but you skipped cut scene well guess what its not yours anymore and you need to abandon the mission and restart. i had to play the first mission 6 times just because of this bug. not a fun time
Gemini Wars is an ambitious real-time strategy title that aims to depict large-scale interstellar conflict through deliberate pacing, layered systems, and a campaign-driven space opera framework. Developed and published by Camel 101, the game positions itself firmly within the classic RTS tradition, but with a noticeably slower and more methodical rhythm than many genre contemporaries. Rather than emphasizing rapid micromanagement or constant action, Gemini Wars focuses on long-term planning, fleet composition, and the careful orchestration of space battles that unfold across star systems. The campaign serves as the backbone of the experience, casting the player as a disgraced commander pulled back into a galaxy-spanning war within the Gemini sector. Story beats are delivered through mission briefings and in-game objectives rather than cinematic presentation, providing context and motivation without dominating the experience. Missions are structured around reclaiming systems, defending key locations, escorting valuable assets, or dismantling enemy strongholds, gradually introducing new mechanics and ship classes as the conflict escalates. While the narrative is functional rather t…
