I played the game only for a little while. I did like the innovative side, however I didn't feel like spending too much time in it. I found the ship building strange (not necessarily bad). The idea of stacking planets is nice. But I find it tedious for now. Perhaps it's a different time from when the game came out. The UI feels clunky but I believe i could get used to it. Combat was very uninformative. Ships fighting, but I have no clue what was happening. So why do I recommend the game? Price is VERY important here. I find the game interesting enough for a few euros and I believe one can find many many hours here, were he so inclined. So the recommendation is mostly because of the games originality. A different take on things. I have recognized some systems as appearing in more modern titles, I suspect this might have been the inspiration. Music was okay, thematic, unintrusive. Graphics were servicable. UI despite feeling clunky, did what it should, mostly.1 found this helpful
One of the strangest RTS games I've played. The races all play differently, which is a very nice mixup. However at the end of the day the only thing that actually matters is ship design, and the AI can't do this at all, so once you have a good design you basically win every game from that point on.
This space empire sim checks so many boxes. Have fun!
I like how you use interplanetary trade to 'upgrade' planets into production hubs. the combat is awesome you can zoom out and watch the beam weapons light up and you can zoom in and see the carnage close up and watch ships blow up in huge explosions. I think the graphics of the ships are cool and I like how the diplomacy functions. You can get spies to spy on the enemy and there are a whole slew of things you can do with the diplomacy function. one of the diplomacy 'things' you can do is buy one and then use it to convince an enemy planet to join you and you can also use diplomacy to get the galactic senate to cede to you an entire enemy starsystem (the enemy of course will retaliate). I have only scratched the surface of all the stuff you can do on the diplomacy screen. Personally I play the game for the awesome combat. be sure to have scout ships to go off and explore the galaxy. and the tutorial is excellent. I am a fan of this game!
THE GAME IS GREAT!!!
