About Into Blue Valley

Into Blue Valley is a first-person short exploration game drawing upon themes of mystery and curiosity. It is presented as a 'found footage' game with the player's view resembling a camcorder recording showing a glimpse into the subdued environment that is being explored.

As the footage unfolds, it soon becomes clear that the bittersweet majesty of Blue Valley offers more than a forgotten tale of abandonment and that the person recording this footage is not alone in their journey.

No option to invert Y-axis and does not work with Polynomial or Sakasa. A couple years ago the developer promised an update to remedy this and it never happened.
Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
I'd give this a "neutral" if I could. It was better than I expected, but still not great. The game gave just enough of a mystery to keep me interested. Unfortunately that mystery is barely explained or expanded upon, aside from a lazy ending. The music was great and very mood-setting. The mapping was fairly well done, though there's a bit too much copy+paste in places. There's no options menu (lol?) so hopefully the sensitivity works for your setup. It takes about 30 minutes to beat. If you love walking simulators like me, it's worth getting on sale.

Yes, I liked the game a lot and have played it through a couple of times. A relaxing walking simulator which was better the second time through. The enviroments were very well rendered, most notably the village ! Many of the buildings could be entered and searched. A really nice experience all around!

It's been years since I played this and I don't remember all of it, but what I do remember is that I didn't regret buying it in sale at all, because I quite liked this short, stylish, nice looking experience in found-footage atmosphere. Therefore I'm quite surprised it got "mixed" reviews as it imo pretty obviously states what you're in for, so if you like the general idea/aesthetic than give this a shot for a few bucks.

I'm not sure from whence I received this game, whether as a gift, a bundle or some sale long ago, but after finding time to play it years later, I'm deeply underwhelmed when I compare it to it's contemporaries. While the music is haunting and beautiful, the lack of things like voice acting, sound effects or other sound design niceties ultimately detract from the storytelling and immersion. A look at the credits will however tell you that the game was made by a family of 3 people, a true indie experience if there was one. However the game simply feels like a first draft, and a second pass to shore up the shortcomings would've gone a long ways to soften the impression of the game, especially as it only clocks in at about 30 minutes, assuming one doesn't get stuck near the end by missing one of the relics or misunderstanding an environmental cue. As mentioned previously it was only 30 minutes so no longer than a mediocre episode of television, but unfortunately it's not worth recommending given the price point and lack of polish.

I enjoyed the experience Into Blue Valley crafts, however the game takes all of about a half an hour to see everything, ends abruptly (the game just closes at the end? No credits or anything, just back to desktop?) and at 4.99$ that is quite a costly, brief experience. **EDIT** Changed to "Recommended" after coming back to the game and remembering it being quite an immersive, albeit short experience. Into Blue Valley is an immersive, at-times spooky / at-times relaxing, VERY brief (30 min maybe??) experience. The game does a good job of crafting an immersive environment via its weather effects (snow / wind breezing throughout the outdoor areas..) and its orchestral music is very well-done and fitting to the enviroments. The gameplay itself is nothing revolutionary for the Walking Simulator genre, you slowly plod your way along to read various notes scattered throughout the desolate city, search for a handful of items to be "used" (placed) at a later location near the game's finale, while occassionally seeing creepy, dark silhouettes of figures in the distance who will always disappear before you get too close to them with the same "flash of white" effect. This is cool and unsettl…
