Leap of Love

Leap of Love is a compact but surprisingly layered visual novel that blends fairy-tale romance with light strategy and time management, resulting in an experience that feels more interactive than many traditional dating sims. Developed and published by Andrealphus Games, the title centers on a whimsical yet time-sensitive premise: the protagonist, Kaheroux, has been transformed from a frog into a human by magic, but the spell will only last for a limited number of days. Game could have been a nice fairy tale simulator, but it fails because of an insane difficulty level, content gated behind an incredibly narrow playthrough, and random deaths that quickly become very boring. Characters are "meh" at most. Graphics are "good enough". Gameplay is way too grindy and repetitive. Story is surprisingly forgettable for such a good premise, which is regrettable.

Pros outweighed by cons: +Sim/management aspects actually challenging. +Lovely and different half sisters to romance/seduce. +/-When it warns you to save a lot because you will die a lot, they aren't kidding. Skill checks and choice checks will kill you in ever new and odd ways. (If you ever played Long Live The Queen, you know what I mean.) -Don't bother telling it you want to never be asked about easy mode again, it will still ask you. -Typos, though most are funny enough this is a lesser issue. -The audacity to say "Human woman didn't know what it was to always hide from predators." I hope whoever wrote that line gets slapped at least once. -You cannot change the voice volume level (limited though the VA is, this can become a major issue).

I don't know if I've ever played a more frustrating game than this one.

Its a visual novel with eye candy. I didn't get very far because I'm not very good at these kind of games. Guess I'll have to go look at porn now like a fricken caveman because I couldn't unlock many CG's.
