About Marginal act
Marginal act takes place in the middle of a global extinction, taking down half of a huge metropolis. Time inside a small district is stopped by the action of the mechanism hidden inside the theater in the middle of the district. Our character worked as an illuminator in the theater. The player will have to solve the game situation, where all citizens are caught in a trap. People can’t leave the district, but they will not be able to live long in stoppeed time.
Features:
• Unique gaming space exploring with theater decoration system.
• Puzzles depend on the activation and deactivation of various buildings. • An original visualization.
• Plot and art-style orientation.
• Several different endings, depending on the segment’s arguments of the game quarter. • There are six segments for decorations on the theater’s stage. Players can put several decorations into each one of the segments.• There are several brands of decoration that represent real buildings on the map. The stage itself represents all game space. The city building appears in the direction corresponding to the filled segment on the stage.

This is a visually stunning game that unfortunately lacks some finishing touches: - The controls aren't quite as obvious and I had to contact the developer for understanding how to switch from russian to english. The startup menu is controlled by WASD instead of mouse or arrows, which would be what one is used to from other games. Also the escape button doesn't do anything for me in-game. Might be a bug? - The above wouldn't be as critical if it wasn't for the english translation full of typo's to a level where it really takes one out of the atmosphere. I didn't play longer than 10 minutes for the named reasons which is a shame as it looks great. It looks visually and soundwise great, reminiscent of the Games from Jack Spinoza if anyone's familiar. Also my very own game "Anica" felt close. I hope the developer will pick up on the mentioned problems so we can enjoy this game which I unfortunately can't recommend yet!11 found this helpful
If you have to describe a game, and you cannot find terms or similarities to help you with, sometime can be a really positive thing. Because it means originality. So, in this moment I really find complicated to described Marginal Act, it is a game so hermetic, strange and peculiar that without playing it could be difficult to understand. The plot is also obscure and surreal, intriguing but difficult to figure it out. Also, a superficial english translation will not help to understand it. But this will not affect the progress or the enjoyment of the game. There are also multiple endings. It can be described as an adventure game, where the main focus is to search random object around a big town to find a use for them. Worth to specify that the objects appears also big and oversized, so the main character will bring them around in a very uncomfortable way. The exploration is at the core of the game, a free and unchained exploration. There are mysterious hidden items without an apparent function and the main character can walk after the borders of the city toward the infinite. One of the most interesting feature is the use of the lights of the theater. The world of Marginal Act app…8 found this helpful
So I've played this game for about 3 hours and I personally love it. It's visually wonderful with the dadaism style of art and the funky use of perspective. The art really fits in with the idea of a slowly collapsing society. I spent a good 5 minutes just appreciating the map and all the detail put in. I loved the look of the NPCs and all the textures, too. The sound design gave off a nice creepy vibe and I loved the wide variety of sound effects. The controls felt good and I'm very appreciative of the use of colliders on the obstacles. I was worried that because of the perspective, I would be hit by enemies/obstacles even if I wasn't really touching them but it was actually really easy and fun to maneuver through. The game is pretty solid when it comes to not having glitches/ places where you easily could get physically stuck which was nice. There are some problems with the game though. The player is also a bit slow and since this game heavily relies on going back and forth from place to place, I would've loved a run button of some sorts. I also found myself getting stuck a few times because the objectives aren't really clear. One example of this was when I was trying to get the…4 found this helpful
Game could be completed in 1 hour, but controls and low character movement speed says "No, you cant" , which is very bad, especialy when there is a lot of back-tracking.2 found this helpful
I really wish i could recommend this game. The mechanic to place buildings in different spots to change their interior is unique, and the graphics and bad english add a special touch. The puzzles are also creative, and most of the time intuitive. However, two major downsides: It's not always clear where to bring what item, and lots of backtracking because you get lost in transporting items/moving buildings. If one could move buildings outside of the theatre, and there was some kind of quest log, it would be easily recommendable.1 found this helpful
