About MEG 9: Lost Echoes

MEG 9: Lost Echoes introduces players to a brand new world of tactical-action through three scenarios along with wave-based flashpoint modes. We are using this version to gauge interest from the community before continuing on with the final story mode version. Enjoy!

Tactical Gameplay
- The Rig is not indestructible: battles need to be chosen wisely, and fought intelligently. Choose an effective loadout, build defensive structures, and upgrade components to increase your chances of survival.
In-Depth Upgrade Systems
- Customize and upgrade your Rig, weapons, and defences to suit your own playstyle, and prepare to face an unpredictable and relentless enemy, driven by an insatiable hunger.
MEG
- Your only ally in the Aperture, MEG 9, is also your most valuable asset. MEG can retrieve artifacts, and hack into various terminals within Horizon.

MEG 9 takes place primarily inside the Probability Aperture, a dimensional disjunction generated by the multinational corporation Quantum Multiphasics: your employer. Throughout the game, players will pilot a remote operated Rig as they explore Horizon, a high-tech complex that has mysteriously gone dark.
The Aperture is home to many strange phenomena, the deadliest of which takes the form of the Corruption. As equipment and power sources are left exposed within the Aperture, mutations begin to take place. Material is gradually taken over by the Corruption and transformed into monstrous bio-mechanical creatures. Both intelligent and incredibly lethal, the Corrupted pose the biggest threat to operations within the Aperture, and need to be dealt with extreme caution.

As a freelancer, you will be remotely conducting operations within the Probability Aperture via the Rig, one of the most advanced military vehicles ever developed. Recent improvements have eliminated the need for pilots to physically operate the vehicle, and now all functionality can be controlled remotely, with visuals being transmitted by a small drone that closely follows the vehicle at all times.

The Rig is an incredibly versatile vehicle, capable of being modified to suit the needs of any particular encounter. Three weapons can be simultaneously mounted along with one defensive module chosen from a pool of nine unique and completely upgradeable parts. Making sure the Rig is outfitted and fully prepared for the dangers that reside within the Horizon facility is a key component to survival.

The latest in a line of Multi-function Extraction and Gathering units, MEG is a dependable robot tasked with assisting remote operators with tasks that they are unable to perform with just the Rig. MEG allows the player to interact with a wide variety of access points within Horizon, whether it be opening doors or even hacking basic machinery.

Salvage destroyed hostiles for important resources that can be used to construct deployable defences. The Rig can build sentry guns, proximity mines, and energy walls, which are instrumental in securing areas and holding back hordes of hostiles. As the player pushes deeper into Horizon, several new forms of deployables can be unlocked

MEG 9: Lost Echoes is a collaborative effort between Skunkwerks Kinetic and novelist William Gibson of Neuromancer fame. While the game itself looks very nice and contains an interesting idea with fun mechanics, it is otherwise an experience devoid of any personality. MEG 9: Lost Echoes is broken and will not support resolutions outside of a monitor's native resolution of 1920x1080; even if the monitor itself is a higher resolution the game window will stay minimised and it seems to be mostly luck that determines whether the game will eventually stay on screen. After spending hours forcing the game to run and fit my screen I managed to record this gameplay until reaching a point where the game would not allow me to continue as the button to close the interface menu was unreachable. Do not buy this game, the developer has been made aware of these issues months ago and seems to hold no intention in fixing their game.8 found this helpful
Oh I had such high hopes for this game, BUT unfortunately It just doesn't deliver! MEG9 is a collaboration with William Gibson, the man credited with the creation of steampunk as well as the being a world renowned fiction writer. This all adds to the disappointment in the game, The trailer looks great! The game play looks awesome, yet the actual game fails flat on its K9 face when you find out there is just 3 levels! No this isn't a early access please wait for us to add more levels or Multi player or some other feature, thats is just 3 levels! Hence this is lucky to score a 3/$12! Doesn't work. Can't get past the main menu. Seems like it might have something to do with resolution... not sure.3 found this helpful
DO NOT BUY if you have a 3440x1440 display, the game only uses fullscreen and 1920x1080 is its maximum resolution, so the game is obviously stretched on a widescreen display.2 found this helpful
I don't read the reviews from other players at times with regards to games of interest. I followed that same rule with this game and thankfully no funds were exchanged in the process. The reviews shown below state the same of what I have to say for this game. Resolution makes it impossible to go forward into anything and the game is constantly crashing. I've had it for over a month expecting something to change; low and behold nothing has. The game is still unplayable and if you have $11.99 itching in your pockets so bad you need to throw it at something - we warned you. By the way this game is listed under Bright Locker as playable now - https://www.brightlocker.com/games/meg-9-lost-echoes I think I'll leave them a little review there also.2 found this helpful
Been a while since I actually played this game.. It was an interesting concept that sounded fun, which is why I took up the option to play it with review in mind. It didn't go well. The concepts were there, but the execution was terrible. The main things I remember - That stick in my mind, are the multitude of times where I had to reload the save due to the fact that the terrible driving controls had managed to get me stuck into an area I couldn't drive out of. I got fed up less than an hour into the game and gave up. I got this for free, and still didn't think it worth it.
