+Entertaining enough -Expensive -Abandoned? -no updates for almost a year -Expensive for yet another wave shooter 0/5 Pretty sure this is abandoned, even if it wasn't it's quite annoying, and badly made. I wouldn't get this. (I can't recommend a game that'll never be finished)

Meme Dragons is a deliberately absurd, arcade-style virtual reality action game that leans fully into chaos, physicality, and internet-flavored humor rather than narrative coherence or mechanical complexity. I just spent more time trying to figure out how this got in my library, versus actually playing the game. It's a VR wave shooter, runs smooth, graphics and audio are OK. The combat isn't great... mostly an effort of trying to time the lead on your slow-moving shots to hit the intended slow-moving target. Not exactly easy, especially when the number of enemies starts increasing. Each wave in 'Story' mode has its own little joke, almost as if the game itself is trolling the player. I would feel robbed had I paid the full $7 for this ... but I got it as part of a bundle, for (effectively) pennies and therefore it just barely gives enough enjoyment for me to give it a thumb: up!

Some reviewers here have compared this game to Space Pirate Trainer. That has to be a joke. It's such a bad joke that it may become a meme in the not too distant future. It's a stand still wave shooter with 2 weapons. A pair of handguns that feels like a water gun with bullets slowly getting from point A to point B that even a nerf gun feels more powerful. You could also choose to throw these Qi balls at the enemies with physics that'll make you question your sanity for choosing this option. There's only a few enemies. I finished the game on easy (after the boss there's infnite levels though) in about 12 minutes. I haven't beaten the game on medium difficulty, that's only because the game throws many enemies at you at level 8, thereby making the game difficult to beat (to hide how short it actually is). Maybe you'll find the memes funnier than I did. But the gameplay is awful and there's no hiding that. Look past the jokes, look past the music & sounds. The gameplay is just terrible.
