About Omen of Sorrow
Monsters of classic horror and mythology clash to take back the night!
In a hidden underworld ruled by creatures of the night, a new terror has awakened! Omen of Sorrow brings monsters of horror, literature and mythology together for a fighting game experience unlike any other. Inspired by numerous arcade classics but offering its own unique innovations and mature aesthetics, Omen of Sorrow positively bleeds style!
Featuring a roster inspired by such icons as Frankenstein’s monster and Egyptian high priest Imhotep, this traditional 4-button fighting game rewards or punishes players based on how aggressive their playstyle is, putting a skill-centric spin on combat while keeping the experience accessible to newcomers. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Omen of Sorrow’s 2.5D brawling spans a multitude of detailed locations with handcrafted animations and cinematic finishers, all set to a masterful soundtrack by composer Francisco Cerda.
The previously downloadable bloody countess Erzsébet now joins the main roster, alongside a massive blood dragon at her command. With a dozen vicious combatants at your command, who will you lead to victory, and who will fall to your bloodlust?

Features:
- Select from a varied roster of characters inspired by horror classics.
- Use cinematic finishers to take down opponents in style!
- Explore single-player modes against the CPU or challenge friends online.
- Strategize on the fly and turn the tide of battle through aggressive play!

Okay-ish indie fighting game. Controls and combos are a bit clunky, but thats already expected from an indie title. The roster of characters are supposed to be based on horror movie themes like werewolves, vampires, Frankenstein and shіt, but some chars are basically rіp offs of other games like Sabre Wulf and Kan-Ra from Killer Instinct or Hilda from Under Night In Birth. Some chars are actually more original and fun however, like the Countess Elizabeth Bathory that is a vampire thats basically a puppeteer type of char, controling a dragon made of blood to attack her enemies. Pretty cool. Theres also a Succubus demon woman that is basically useless when shes on the ground but becomes pretty powerful when she takes flight or is in the air, gaining access to a lot of combo strings and command grabs. Interesting concept. Anyways, its a an okay-ish fighter 7.5/10 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=346334275617 found this helpful
It's a fun fighting game with interesting characters and PS2 like graphics. Most importantly for this review, it seems to play fine without any tweaks or modifications on the Steam Deck, and I didn't see that elsewhere. So grab it on sale for your Deck!2 found this helpful
kind of bad... my first issue is that it feels like the developers are scared to make the player press more than 1 button at once. ex moves have their own button, as do throws. kof figured out this kind of stuff years ago... another gripe i have is that special cancelling some normals costs fortune meter (called a bold cancel). i can understand needing resources for guard cancels and special>special it gets frustrating when you can't even cancel a st.hp on some characters without meter. fortune is an easy come easy go meter, but you also get the third bar (needed to activate the maxmode mechanic) taken away for sitting on it for too long, and the rest of the bar gradually depletes over time. when you lose fortune you gain fate (kind of like the guard balance in calamity trigger where losing one gains the other by the same amount). when you're full on fate, you enter a state called impending doom, which leads to my next issue... doomed is the stupidest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanic ever designed. whoever thought locking characters out of their specials just for losing too much is stupid. i play some snowball-y games but this is on another level and i'm genuinely annoyed that it even exists. imag…1 found this helpful
This is overall a good indie fighting game, it doesn't feel as refined as the more expensive fighting games out there but it doesn't feel bad to play by any means. The online does seem to be pretty dead, which isn't surprising, but the game does have a good arcade mode and a surprisingly lengthy story mode. For a game that's less than half the cost of a big modern fighting game (hell this entire game its cheaper than a lot of fighting game DLC) it is surprisingly good and is certainly worth checking out.1 found this helpful
Omen of Sorrow is a solid game; however, it could benefit from more fluidity in the combos. Additionally, reduce the frequency of the CPU repeating the same move to avoid spamming.
There are soo many things wrong with this game. hit detection, jumping, animations, ect best to avoid unless you can get it for dirt cheap just to fool around with. good luck with this mess
