Y'all got any more of them Jiang Lai scenes? I cannot even begin to express how great this FMV is. It clearly stands out within the genre, primarily because of how much more down to earth it is - at least within the realm of what an FMV can be - and feels significantly more genuine than a lot of "look, attractive women" cash grabs. The game centers around three friends who set out to build their dream: owning a guest house. Along the way, our main character, Zheng Zai, encounters six lovely ladies with each their personality type; the usual stereotypical setup for the genre. However, the game somehow manages to provide them with what feels like actual personalities rather than just shoving the actors into a role and calling it a day, albeit somewhat shallow still, as is to be expected, it's quite delightful nonetheless. Rather than going on and on about the game, or going as far as to reveal anything in particular, I'll put it like this: Such a Guy is the first and thus far only game where, when all is said and done, I did not have the heart to watch even a single regretful ending. I simply "fell in love" with the characters along the way. It's funny, charming, and slightly rid…3 found this helpful
This is such a well done game with so much content! My only complaint is that some things not relevant to the plot/an upcoming choice aren't translated (text and voice messages). If this is corrected it would be a full 10/10~1 found this helpful
Wow I was surprised by how good this game turned out be. It succeeds in every possible way, great storytelling, well rounded characters, acting, production, attention detail, great soundtrack. I enjoyed the whole cast of characters, except for one, who just didn't vibe with me. I even loved the two male friends who help you out throughout the story. I really felt like they were my best friends as I played the game to its conclusion. This game is a bit slow at first to get into the story. You just have to stick with it and trust me it gets really good. There's a perfect blend of drama and humor. Something that really stood out to me is this game lets scenes just play out, where others would just cut it short and call it a day. I really appreciate just enjoying the scenes and getting immersed into the story. I will say that anyone getting into this game looking for fanservice will be disappointed, as this game focuses more on the romance and story, not on amping up the sex appeal. Which is actually refreshing. I feel like anyone who is a fan of this type of game will absolutely love it. There's a ton of content to be had with unlockable photos, audio tapes, some with v…1 found this helpful
Very fun, tons of heart and charm.1 found this helpful
This is now my favorite interactive movie by far. It is slower paced than most, and the romance isn't always the central focus, but it is more realistic in its pacing and character development. The actors give it their all, even the side characters, and it is the first one to truly feel like a movie or mini series. Plus, it has the most beautiful location of any of these live action games so far. There is a staggering amount of content, too, especially for the price. Buy it!1 found this helpful
Such A Guy Review - 9/10 I played Such A Guy (有这么一个家伙) for about 35 hours on Steam, completed all achievements, and played on Windows 11 with the English interface/subtitles and Chinese audio. This was also my first East Asian FMV game, so I’m reviewing it from the perspective of someone new to the genre. Such A Guy by Such One Studio is a full-motion video life/dating sim RPG where you play as Zane/Zheng Zai, who quits his job and starts a seaside guesthouse business with two childhood friends. Along the way, you try to keep the business alive while building relationships with six female leads, any of whom may become your romantic interest depending on your choices. Installation was quick and painless, and the free 4K DLC is a nice bonus. Performance was smooth for me, loading times were good, and I didn’t encounter any major technical problems. The interface is also easy to understand, even as a first-time FMV player. Moving between scenes, replaying choices, and unlocking alternate outcomes felt intuitive. Gameplay-wise, the game has a good balance of story, choices, mini-games, collectibles, hidden options, achievements, and multiple endings. The mini-games are simple but n…
