✦ AI summary

Players consistently criticize The Clans as a low-effort RPG Maker game with amateurish writing, incoherent storytelling, and poorly designed mechanics where normal attacks outperform magic and skills. Common complaints include cringeworthy dialogue filled with bad jokes and grammatical errors, unmotivated characters with no personality, a useless crafting system, and tedious combat that becomes repetitive and breaks the game's flow. The game is seen as exemplifying the worst of Steam's RPG Maker catalogue, offering little of value beyond its pixel graphics.

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…

Wow another negative review today... I didn't finish this nor do I plan to. This game has quite a number of problems a lack of sprint being among them. I was actually playing on normal for once, and wasn't really enjoying it. I got to Onyxus with one member dead, no revives left, and didn't have the supplies to make it back to the vending machine. The worst part in this game is not only do enemies lv with you, but there's this rather lengthy section right after the first boss which requires you to play as a different set of characters that just breaks the flow of the game and it made me pretty bored.

RPG Maker strikes again! "The Clans" is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoffs spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club weeaboo fan fiction. "The Clans" is one of the worst RPG Maker games ever made. This is a tremendous achievement because RPG Maker games in general are terrible, some of the worst games to be shovelled lazily onto Steam. This makes the others look almost acceptable as video games. Endless copy+paste of stock RPG Maker assets. Writing that will make your eyes bleed, it's the cringiest amateur fan fiction ever written, and they dumped into a godawful RPG Maker shell of horror. This is so bad I'd rather have a root canal than play this steaming pile of refuse.

A very poor and disastrous RPG with very amateurish writing and incoherent plot. Terrible and repetitive combat. Useless crafting system. Aside from the graphics, there's nothing good about this game?? There was no underlying theme. Characters in your party have neither a personality nor motivation. The writing is a complete joke. Just look at the name of the characters...... A vampire named General Bastardo?? The dialogues revolve around very bad dad jokes, lazy conversations, and uninspired self-referential humour. Grammatical errors were flooding the game. Hell, even the names are spelt differently at times. It's like a horrible fan-fiction written by a 12 year old kid. Game mechanics are weird as heck. Normal attacks are more powerful than magic and techniques. Elemental weaknesses and spells doesn't seem to have an impact, the scaling of the attacks were worse. Healing abilities are a joke because potions heal more. The game is also overly reliant on skills that throw status conditions to disable enemies, such as paralysing and dooming them. Mid and late game enemies have way too much health and attack damage. Characters joining the party can't seem to catch up on the level…
