About Imprisoned Hyperion 2

Imprisoned hyperion 2 is a dark fantasy first-person rpg with immersive sim. elements.

Story

The story tells of a rat-man scout exploring the dark dungeons of a harsh world that has seen its own end.

These lands were once ruled by powerful mages, but they were destroyed by an older and more powerful force.
Mages didn't worry much about what would happen to their artificially created homunculus and various creature-servants.
Abandoned, these creatures took their fate into their own hands and try to survive in the world left to them.

Play It Your Way

In the game there are different ways to achieve the goals. If you have a locked door in front of you, there are usually several ways to solve it.
For example, you can pick a lock or ask a guard for a key or find a way around.

You can read the notes and immerse yourself in the history of the world to explore locations and find the best way or just slash and burn everything in your way.

The game will lead you to a single ending, play as you like.

EDIT: the super cool dev has informed me there is an actual quest log and I somehow totally missed it lol. This one is tough. On one hand, I kinda knew I was in for jank with a solo indie Russian dev, and I was correct. It definitely evokes the feeling of "wait huh?" I got when I first played Arx Fatalis, which is kinda what I'm here for. Some of the translation is stilted, which is, again, expected. I get that this would probably turn some players off entirely, but I'm here to wade through to swampy jank to get the good ♥♥♥♥. My big critique is, with a game that has a bit of a stilted translation, with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of text, I almost NEED a quest log of some kind. I didn't see a keybind for it, and the little Morrowind style "press a buttom for every window to open" doesn't have a log in it. I feel like I could easily get past ANY other issues with a quest log. The real reason I bought this though, is the rats. I am a man who loves rats. My patch jacket has like 2 patches related to just rats on it. I play Skaven religiously in Total War. I feed wild rats just because I think they're cute and cool. So a game where you play as a giant rat man really does seem specifically designed w…

Off to a solid start. This game is already a a step up from the original in most categories..especially the combat. One area I do think they let slide was the voice over area. This game could definitely use voice acting. Would bring the story to life. I do liek the exploration aspect. Just wish there was more to find in some nooks. Maybe there is? I haven't gotten too far but am intrigued to play more. Thumb up as I want to see more indie RPGs succeed. Gameplay Impressions: https://youtu.be/Y7QFB7Hx3Os

I'll start off with my direct impression of the game: It's a flawed gem that ends too soon, and not in the sense that I wanted more, but in the sense that the end feels abrupt. Gameplay: 5/10 This game has an overall solid framework for how it plays, the movement is just in the right spot where walking feels good and running feels even better. This, coupled with the fact that running does not consume stamina at all, means that you don't have to carefully manage your stamina at all times. (That said, running does not allow your stamina to regen. More on that later.) The skill system lets you customize your character to fit your play style, with a skill-based system that requires the acquisition of Behemoth Bones to earn a skill point, but these bones are very few and far between, case in point when I beat the game, it was with six points total. Make of that what you will. This does mean that combat is largely avoidable. It's not entirely pointless, as enemies can drop items that have some use- though Enchanted Armors and Devastated Wizards drop nothing, making defeating them largely pointless unless they're guarding something. Combat is also very bare-bones and doesn't require much…

Old school as hell, reminds me a lot of the first time I played Vanguard or Everquest (mmos). Combat is janky and clunky, but honestly the lack of handholding is a breath of fresh air these days. Try it if you're into that sort of feel.

It reminds me of Skyrim at first. It's cool that we play as a rat, but I would like more rat action. For example, to run on four legs or something like that. In the temple in the winter location there is a second floor with a hole in the wall. I did not know how to get there and used crates. it worked, but then I also found the key to this door. I guess you can use different ways to get to your goals. I liked the weapon crafting looks interesting, but I would like more variety and some fantasy materials. Magic looks much stronger than sword fighting, so I decided to play as a mage. So far only got to the city of rats. I'll try to write more when I get through the game, but so far I like it.
