About Legend of Grimrock
Descend through the monster-filled dungeons of Mount Grimrock as a party of prisoners, solving devious puzzles and navigating grid-based tactical combat to escape the mountain alive. This modern take on classic dungeon crawlers emphasizes exploration and wit over brute force, with secrets hidden around every corner and optional oldschool mode that strips away the automap for veteran players.
The game brings back the oldschool challenge with highly tactical real-time combat and grid-based movement, devious hidden switches and secrets as well as deadly traps and horrible monsters. Legend of Grimrock puts an emphasis on puzzles and exploration and the wits and perception of the player are more important tools than even the sharpest of swords could be. And if you are a hardened dungeon crawling veteran and you crave an extra challenge, you can arm yourself with a stack of grid paper and turn on the Oldschool Mode which disables the luxury of the automap! Are you ready to venture forth and unravel the mysteries of Mount Grimrock?
Tribute to classic dungeon crawlers. Control party of 3 characters playing from the first person view. Moving is grid based and turn based (only in combat). Dungeons are nicely done, some include secret passages, rooms and traps beyond all comprehension. Depending on class of your heroes game might be more or less challenging, make sure to have multiple saves. Exploration is the main force that drives you in this type of games along with leveling. Use points to boost stats and keep everyone happy. This was the first real dungeon crawler I ever played from beginning to the end. Game is set in titular Grimrock dungeon. Level design is decent. Enemies require a bit of strategy. Recommended.
4 found this helpful
A great take on the Dungeon Master game from the Amiga. Highly recommended.1 found this helpful
old school part based dungeon crawler akin to dungeon master, elder scrolls arena, and might & magic. filled to the brim with clever secrets, and head scratching puzzles. Don't bother with the negative reviews, most of them probably have never played a challenging rpg before. worth the $15 and def worth the $2 when its on sale.

oh boh, legend of grimCUCK If ur like me, you never read poz-itive reviews, since its all ball suckers and bots This is one id give a NEUTRAL review if I could Its not BAD, but its not great either tl;dr : for what it is, the "story" feels too short, like i get it, use your imagination, its not meant to be lore heavy, blah blah or some ♥♥♥♥, its still really unfleshed, thin af, like shart souls gameplay? piss easy once you get the enemies pattern down, and some puzzles are braindead, some require actual thought, and others are just like ok put the fent pipe down cuh It never really lets you come to maturity with your characters unless you minmax all your points into ONE skill (like swords or wtv) the mage really gets cucked by this, if you want to deal any damage worth a ♥♥♥♥ you need to minmax into some kind of spell type, I went full fire, then theres spellcraft that takes away your points since if you dont put any in there, your energy goes to ♥♥♥♥ in 2 spells or wtv, that ♥♥♥♥♥ really unbalanced honestly, the mage always runs out of energy way before the others, and doesnt really do much more damage and hell yeah I played on easy, I play to have FUN, artificial difficulty th…
If you were a fan of Dungeon Master, this is pretty much a spiritual remake.
