The Grand (RTS) Strategy Format
Kingdoms Rise and Fall stands out by blending traditional real-time strategy elements with the grand strategy format. Players are tasked with nurturing a small village into a thriving empire, while simultaneously dealing with a plethora of challenges that test their strategic prowess. These challenges include disease outbreaks, pandemics, barbarian invasions, and even supernatural occurrences like undead uprisings or alien invasions, depending on the chosen map or preferences.
Technological Advancements
Research plays a crucial role in the game's progression. Starting with rudimentary tools like clubs and spears, players gradually advance their civilizations by unlocking technologies such as iron and bronze making, gunpowder, nuclear missiles, and space travel. Each technological leap opens up new possibilities and units, significantly affecting the course of the game.
Happiness and Civil Unrest
Maintaining happiness among your citizens is paramount. Happiness can be gained by trading luxury resources or through other in-game means. However, it can be lost through defeats in battles, the death of soldiers, the demise of citizens, or the destruction of buildings. Civil unrest poses a constant threat and can spread through regions with distant buildings or units. Players must manage civil unrest carefully, especially when transitioning between different government systems and ideologies.
Multiplayer and Endless Possibilities
The game will soon support multiplayer matches for up to 8 players, allowing for intense competition and collaboration. There is no population or building limit, meaning you can develop expansive empires with thousands of buildings and units.

Its early access yes, I know but when the game won't even go past the first loading screen.... Something needs to be fixed.4 found this helpful

It has graphics. Aside from this, it is still exceedingly unpolished even after a year and a half in Early Access. Trying to select buildings is a nightmare if you build them too close early on as they will clip through each other later. Some buildings have an unreasonably large collision box whereas some have barely any. Units, all units (not just citizens/workers) will automatically exit idle to either work or attack something with no down-time so you will frequently find units straying off on their own and getting themselves killed by unseen enemy or wildlife. Water doesn't render properly. Mini-map is poorly oriented and doesn't display either the correct player colours, nor camera orientation. Resources have absolutely massive collision boxes and are harvested from a fair distance meaning that it's hard to tell which resources your workers arbitrarily decide to collect once they've decided they've had enough of collecting whichever one you tell them to.1 found this helpful
Needs work, and i mean A LOT of work which unfortunately i will have to give it a negative for until its polished properly Performance wise, lagspikes happen a lot and sometimes games dont load. Camera feels like it floats, and controls are awkward Loads've glitches which is expected in an EA title. World color makes it hard to distinguish which team is which UI is basic and i mean very very basic, big and ugly. The title menu could do with a lot of work to be more appealing. Concept of the game is good, but it definitely needs more work done to it. If done right, this could be the next Rise of Nations.1 found this helpful
The game barely works. I got through the loading screen and into actually playing like 1 out of 5 times. The game is very buggy/glitchy (units will be in boats and move really slow for no reason?). Some gamemodes don't work at all and just get stuck on the background. The music is ridiculously loud and my ears and head hurts... This shouldn't be an Early Access game on steam, this should be a closed Alpha or some sort of closed playtest. Let me know when the game is somewhat playable and I might give it a try. :)1 found this helpful
