Interesting game design, but terrible, and I mean downright bad game mechanics, clearly not well flushed out. most decisions feel rudimentary or not explained. bad UI screen is stuck at just an awful camera angle but that's all Kalypso games from this era. sometimes the politicians simply want to screw your character over and railroad some bad edicts or legislation, truly a frustrating game. edit: and that's if you can get it to start at all, had to run as admin on the launcher and it pops up twice before the game loads
Game is crushes at start. Who had same problem and fixed this?
I think this game deserves more credit then it received, honestly its fun. Could it be better? Yeah. For what it is though, its a thumbs up from me.

Is this game bad? Maybe. But I'm not sure? I mean, I think it's a perfectly 6/10 city builder from 2017. Why such opprobrium from the internet? People thought kalypso (the Tropico people) were going to make the most serious hardcore citybuilder sim of alltime? I don't know. It does what it say on the box. Moderate city building interspersed with a bunch of political flavor. It's fun for what it is. It's not a world-beater, it's not infinitely replayable, but you can easily get a decent 25 hours here and it's on sale for $3 now.
