Power of the Horde is a fantastic RTS with RPG features such as Hero and equipement system.There are 3 factions—Humans, Horde, and Undead—each with 3 unique heroes and shared units. Every hero and unit has its own skill tree. Hero Equipement SystemIn both RTS and RPG modes, heroes can loot equipment from control points or bosses on the map.Like in an RPG, equipment has different stats and can be kept between games. Gear comes in different quality levels, from Normal to Mystic. Dynamic map mechanicsOn RTS skirmish maps, there are lots of interesting points to explore:By taking control of guarded points, heroes can earn experience and loot valuable items.At mercenary camps and the Grand Arena, players can hire powerful neutral units.Other interesting locationsare also worth visiting, such as the Fountain of Life or neutral villages.AI AssistantPlayer can activate the AI assistant to help them construct bases, train units, and even control units.The AI assistant can be configured to perform certain tasks, and players can even control just the hero, as in RPG games.Features in developementEarly Access ends on 2026.07.05, bringing exciting new features:

I love this game. It's a great singleplayer RTS with roleplaying elements. It reminds me a lot of Warcraft, but with some interesting features added in like objectives that give you extra units and build options for towers, and outposts. The game is pretty fun!6 found this helpful
Great unique idea on the fantasy base building rts genre. Cool factions and units with cool skirmish maps with quests. Love having the AI able to take control of certain parts I don't want to deal with. Looking forward to the future of this game.6 found this helpful

This has crazy potential, i really like it, im always on the look out for a fantasy age of empires. Nobody has really done it right, this isnt quite that but i could see it getting there. Having a hero character is a really nice feature that appears to be on the rise. I hope the vision is fleshed out and i hope the game does really well, fantasy rts has suffered for too long and warcraft just doesnt cut it. My only gripe is that i cant control my whole army at once, the unit select cap seems a bit small, i ran into an archangel and my whole squad got demolished lol. I probably would have needed 3 full groups for that fight but its just hard to juggle armies like that, i want to select everyone i want and send them all to the same place.3 found this helpful
Could definitely use some polish, but overall a strong proof of concept and a decent foundation. I'm going to be looking at how this game takes shape with great interest.2 found this helpful
