The Scouring

Soothes my hankering for old school Warcraft. Wish there was more voice over lines for units instead of grunts but I get it. Fun game so far. Loving the different modes. Can be quite the challenge on hard but that's the way its suppose to be!

[h2]A promising RTS held back by frustrating AI, sluggish unit movement, and a lack of content[/h2] [i]Disclaimer: This review is based solely on playing against the AI in the singleplayer classic and challenge modes, [i]not[/i] the hero mode or multiplayer.[/i] ✅ [b][i]Fun modifiers[/i][/b] There are some really fun modifiers that can completely change how you approach a game, and these have been one of the highlights for me. The most recent one I beat after multiple attempts essentially spawned increasingly stronger goblin waves at the start of each night cycle that would attack one of your bases. This made turtling around your expansions and main base a necessity, and it was fun having to balance defending against the waves with expanding and harassing the enemy AI. ✅ [b][i]Playing defensively is fun[/i][/b] Turtling in this game aka sitting in your bases feels super strong and satisfying as you're able to garrison ranged units in your barracks and on top of mini towers that you can easily spam. You can also build barricades that enemy melee units have to break through. That said, I do think playing defensively is a bit too strong at the moment especially with how clunky unit…

Game is really good. I was for long time not having fun with RTS but this game change that. It's challenging you need develop some strategies to win on biger maps. This AI stuff have defnitly potential but for some time I blay without assist of AI. But this maps whera are 6 palyers are for my not possible to win without AI :) to much happend. It's only Early Acess and it's allready a good game, I not found any bugs so yet (this is also sometching and I am playing on Linux) and defnitly this game have big potential.

Better than I had expected, very nostalgic if you enjoy Warcraft RTS. The game will require a bit of work to to get a launch ready version but it could be worth the wait if improvmenets and content keep coming.

Great so far, needs polishing but overall lots of potential, with campaing on the way and workshop as always

Cool game. I played a lot of Warcraft 2 in the past, manly the campaign. The Scouring is a modern version of it with a lot of improvements and new stuff. I am a casual player, so I play just for fun. I like the hero modes that were included, namely hero and base, and dota style gameplay. They are very fun to play and the AI is pretty competent. I didn't like the tower defense mode. To hard at the moment for me. It was very punishing even in normal mode. I like the potion automation mechanic. Your army trinks healing potions automatically when energy is depleted. I would like to see more of this automation, especially for the spells. I am not into this micromanaging stuff, especially when the armies are this big. I lose sight of stuff during the massacres. So please add more intelligent task automation. But don't take the fun away. Autonate only the chores. I am playing it on linux mint. It works outstanding. I don't have any frame drops even when the screen is full of armies. I didn't experienced crashes, only fluid game play. The boat mechanic fells at the moment a little bit clunky and sluggish. What I don't like is that the voice acting has disappeared in these kind of…
