Statues developed and published by Room710Games is a first-person horror title built around a single, striking idea: threats that only move when you aren’t looking at them. It’s a concept that immediately taps into a primal fear of the unseen, turning the player’s own awareness into both a defense mechanism and a constant source of vulnerability. From the outset, the game establishes a tense relationship between vision and survival, where even the smallest shift in perspective can have consequences. The core gameplay revolves around navigating dark, often claustrophobic environments while keeping a careful eye on hostile statues that advance whenever they fall outside your line of sight. This creates a unique rhythm that differs from traditional horror games. Instead of running or hiding, you’re forced into a state of constant vigilance, managing multiple threats at once while still trying to move forward. Progress becomes a delicate balancing act—focus too much on one statue, and another may close in from behind; look away for even a second, and you risk losing control of the situation. This mechanic is simple in theory but remarkably effective in practice, generating tension fro…1 found this helpful
I still love this game.
So bad
The story of this game isn't developed well so don't expect anything amazing. There's a blinking mechanic where you either blink to refill the meter or let it run out and blink for you. This mechanic isn't done well and during the day, you shouldn't have to worry about if you are blinking. The statues move too fast and teleport right to you at times when they either aren't anywhere near you or there is stuff in the way that should be slowing them down. Certain statues are reused and aren't changed to fit the area of the place you're at. During the amusement park, two statues that were in a previous chapter of the game are now suddenly there too and teleport to you every so often even though there's no reason for them to be there besides either the game having some issue and putting them there or the idea that they followed you. There is a hammer you can pick up at one point and that does help but there should be a few other ways to help defend yourself against the statues like your flashlight stunning them for example. There is many gameplay issues and the storytelling needs work. I don't recommend this game and it's not worth buying even on sale.
