About The Empire's Crisis
The Empire founded by Humanity's greatest hero and sanctioned by the God of Order himself is on the cusp of its worst time of hardship in almost 300 years of history. You play as a previously unknown mercenary who, after being caught up in the Empire's time of chaos and misery, may be capable of growing strong enough to close the book on these trying times... or write the next chapter himself.
The Empire's Crisis is an RPG Maker game that offers:
* 12-20 hours of runtime
* A character-driven story closely tied to the history and mythology of the world
* A main quest that takes the player and their party to the corners of the known world, and back again
* Side quests featuring the main Guilds of the land to explore certain regions in more depth
* Character progression beyond leveling up, in branching class promotions that make each playthrough a little different
* 2 different endings, each of which dramatically changes the course of history

I picked this up because the idea of saving an empire that's in crisis instead of tearing it down appealed to me. Unfortunately, the game feels very amateur. Why is it nearly 4 GB? There's little distinction between the world map and an area map, and shortly after starting the game, I lost all sense of direction and purpose. It's cool that there were tons of lore books in the library. I can tell the creator cared about his game world. I think The Empire's Crisis needs some real help with level and story design. For example, there seemed to be an implied romance/sexual tension going on between the main character and his elf companion. If this was intentional, that's fine, but somehow I feel like the dev wrote it that way by accident. Ultimately, I quit and uninstalled it when I realized that the standard battles were using the default boss battle music. It's just a fight against some wasps, you don't need music of that intensity level.
Good game wish my main char a lil stronger the archer guy is very op.
