About Thunder Rally

Thunder Rally is a ridiculous local multiplayer demolition derby you can win even without your car. Smash your opponents' cars off the field. If the drivers survive, run them down before they steal your car!

\SMASH YOUR OPPONENTS\ off the field to claim victory. Drifting into your enemies will add extra punch to your impacts, so drive with some flair!

\FIGHT ON FOOT\ if your car is flipped over or knocked off the field. You can flip cars over with your fists of steel, just don't get run over in the process.

\USE CRAZY POWERUPS\ teleported into the rally. Sticky bombs will blast cars off the map, heat-seeking missiles will vaporize wiley drivers, and the black hole launcher is great for when you need serious cleaning power.

\RAIN FIRE AND CHAOS\ after your inevitable death as a catapult loaded with explosive barrels. Each driver killed means yet another catapult in play.

\PLAY AGAINST THE CPU\ if you don't have enough friends nearby, or just need a little more chaos!
A nice game but it's basically broken abandonware.
The game has charm with the aura of an early 2000's flash game you akwardly played with two on one keyboard. But with gameplay where handling is too floaty and powerups being all over the place from counterproductive to guaranteed win, its basically luck based on getting the right power ups or not. When you turn off a number of powerups and remove the barrel catapults it becomes more managable but not that captivating. Additionally the achievements don't seem to work.
I don't really like giving this game a negative review, and am willing to give it a second chance if things change, but I can't justify a positive one as of writing.
So what am I talking about? Basically nothing has been done since 2020. One of the devs has been posting about 'the team needing to deal with the covid pandemic before getting back together to finish it', but we're nearly 2026 and their last post is from 2022 despite still actively playing games on steam today as I write this. It's sad because I'm sure its a small team and the base is there and shows promise, the game is kind of fun for its small price, but its just half wor…

Thunder Rally is a high-energy arcade vehicular combat game that fully embraces chaos as its defining feature, offering an experience that prioritizes fun, destruction, and social play over realism or competitive simulation. Developed and published by Typical Entertainment, the game drops players into compact arenas where the only real objective is to outlast everyone else by smashing, blasting, and knocking opponents out of the fight in the most spectacular ways possible. From the moment a match begins, it is clear that Thunder Rally is designed as a party-friendly title meant to generate laughter, sudden reversals, and memorable moments rather than measured, skill-heavy racing. The core gameplay revolves around short, intense matches set in enclosed arenas filled with hazards, ramps, and interactive elements. Players control small, nimble vehicles that handle in an intentionally exaggerated manner, making collisions dramatic and unpredictable. Speed, positioning, and timing matter, but not in the traditional racing sense; success is more about opportunism and situational awareness than mastering tight driving lines. The arenas are designed to funnel players into conflict, ensuri…

A fantastic game that me and the kids keep in frequent rotation. I'm not sure if the devs have stage fright or just some feature they expected to get to that didn't come to fruition, but this game is totally not early access. It is polished, the controls are snappy, I haven't seen any bugs, and it is a blast to play. It doesn't have online multi-player, but if that is why the devs arent marking it as done, then they are dreaming. Netcode for this would be a pain, and really would warrent a sequel. Oh, and it works great on steam deck, especially hooked to the big screen with 4 controllers.

This game is probably a blast with couch co-op or remote play but seeing as how I dont have any friends wanting to play, no online matchmaking, and the last dev post in 2021 I would not recommend this game unless you have a party ready to go. I mean you can play against npc cars but theyre so bad I won a match sitting still running the game long enough to leave this review.
