Awesome game. It builds up its systems very well, and has quite a bit of depth. I like the game loop, and depending on what goals (quests or meta progression) you want to chase your strategy might differ widely. The fact that dev put in optional learning of Japanese is a pretty cool addition, and very thematic for this game.1 found this helpful

Really unique deck builder. Relaxing, slow paced, with fantastic art and theming/story.
This game does a lot of things and combines them very well. It starts off slowly and introduces new items and challenges gradually, layering them as you move deeper into the world. There's not really any violence which I think is great, and really shares a unique philosophy to guide your decisions. You can play in all sorts of ways but there are rewards for taking untraditional routes. Despite having nearly 30 hours in the game I have no idea how many new systems or challenges will be introduced. Based on a log of various goals, I'm maybe 1/4 of the way through? But if the goals are mostly optional, I could be like one run away from the final stage. There's still a lot of space for me to advance on the tech tree so I figure I'm about halfway. I really appreciate the deckbuilding aspect of the game, your starter deck is adjustable but fairly tame, and new and more powerful cards drop in your hand quickly - especially as you advance the tech tree. There are entirely optional minigames to learn the strokes of the kanji featured in this game. There's no need to know any of them, but it would be a great tool for learning a few hundred kanji if that's your thing. I really would…
I really enjoyed this game. I am not huge on puzzle games, but I enjoyed this. Helped me get through a fever with it's relaxing gameplay. I would say this is for people who enjoy games with meta currencies (it's how the story progresses, I would argue it's done well). Not quite a city builder, but probably entertaining to city builders as it does have a form of resource management.
