About Learn Japanese: Yuke and the Book of Yokai
Only you can stop a full-force assault of the yokai forces. Team up with the local protection kami, Myōkun the Tanuki, and unleash your language-learning prowess! Learn Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji, and Japanese grammar! In this roguelike deckbuilder, you don’t merely build your deck — you also expand your Japanese knowledge!
Yuke and the Book of Yokai is a language-learning game at its very core. You play cards to fight off the evil yokai, but you first need to gather energy to play them. And how do you do that? By correctly answering grammar, vocabulary, Kanji and Kana quizzes!
Fight at your own pace!
Choose what to learn, when to learn, and how to learn! Take it easy and relax, or push yourself to the limits. Each run can teach you something new! And you can always repeat previous lessons from the main menu.
Immerse yourself!
And learn about the fabulous world of Japanese myth while also engaging with Japanese culture! Get taught by friendly characters, or have a go at it on your own and learn from the environment and in-game objects.

Please add a section for just knowing verbs in dictionary form and later conjugating them as an optional part but words in Japanese and getting them correct like vocab. And another area for adjectives. I’m currently studying Japanese in a class with the genki books so I’m hoping u use vocab words that’s in that and verbs and stuff2 found this helpful
The games seems to have a lot to learn from, but the UI and pacing are both really confusing. Not to mention it crashed multiple times in the brief time I tried to play. I bought this to compliment my Japanese learning, but there are easier to use apps and games that function better. It's too bad, because this seems like something the devs put a lot of heart and effort into making.1 found this helpful
Fun game, feels a lot more like playing than just studying or memorizing. I really enjoy it, even outside of the learning Japanese aspect. The art is nice, music is good, and the gameplay is engaging. My main complaint is that it seems a little unbalanced. Even if you get your Japanese questions correct all the time, some of the enemies are incredibly strong (very high HP, powerful attacks) and unless you have enough shields to block them, it's pretty easy to die especially when you face the first big boss and beyond. I think if it were a bit better balanced and enemies matched your level better when you are just starting out and only have so much HP / so many powerful cards, it'd be a ton better. Overall though, just for the fun of learning and practicing the Japanese, I would recommend it!1 found this helpful
This game is amazing, do you plan to expand the japanese pool to upper level like N3->N1
I learned the word Gomi. It describes my experience. Not enough vocabulary options in the beginning
great game tho some things need to be added and the book of learning needs improovments
