Starlight and the Silver Key is a strange puzzle game about saving the world after your own world falls apart. Solve puzzles. Whisper passwords into ears. Make something called a Greasy Joe and become best buds with a demon.
Starlight and the Silver Key is a game about getting stuck—on puzzles AND feelings—and getting through it. Uncover a sinister plot as you confront a supernatural foe and your own grief.
Puzzles blend retro mechanics with a modern twist inspired by escape rooms. To solve these puzzles, you’ll have to figure out what the clues mean and when you can use them.
Match wits with Yog-Sothoth and a cast of characters that only slightly resemble Lovecraftian horrors.
Original soundtrack features a sing-along experience where a lizard person named Ed teaches you how to make coffee.
Before the pandemic hit, I spent most of my time building and running escape rooms. When businesses were shuttered in 2020, Starlight and the Silver Key provided me with a creative outlet to continue building puzzles and telling stories. Outside of the music, I take responsibility for the dad jokes and the rest of the game's development.

An amusing & captivating puzzler that keeps the player moving forward while rewarding them with great mechanics, a fun cast of characters, touching story, & delightful music that has serious replay value with alternate scenes and dialog options. Starlight and the Silver Key is a lovely puzzler reminiscent of mechanics found in Zelda, Undertale, and even games like Gone Home or What Remains Of Edith Finch in its willingness to discuss deeper topics. Puzzles had the perfect balance of difficulty and fun, never getting stuck for too long or being confused about the next direction I should explore. And for those who have some years behind them, the callbacks to older games and 80s movies make the experience just that much more delightful. I got around 10 hours of gameplay and would recommend the game to anyone looking to enjoy a few mellow afternoons after work.2 found this helpful

Starlight & the Silver Key is pretty damn fun - once you get past the start - then I was hooked for the next two hours. Once you start hitting the puzzles the story starts unfolding and honestly it's great. Really love the sense of humour. Decent puzzles, quirky story, great sense of humour.
