Lithium City, developed and published by Nico Tuason, is a tightly scoped top-down action game that builds its entire identity around speed, precision, and momentum. Set within a stylized cyberpunk tower, the game follows a lone fighter ascending floor by floor through waves of enemies, with each level functioning as a compact, self-contained challenge. There is very little emphasis on narrative or world-building in a traditional sense; instead, the game communicates its tone through its visual style, pacing, and relentless structure. It feels less like a story-driven experience and more like a focused test of reflexes and adaptability. The core gameplay revolves around a fluid mix of ranged and melee combat, with players constantly switching between weapons depending on availability and necessity. Firearms provide quick, efficient takedowns but are limited by ammunition, forcing players to think carefully about when to use them. Melee combat, on the other hand, is riskier but more sustainable, requiring close proximity and precise timing. The ability to throw weapons adds an additional layer of strategy, turning even temporary tools into versatile options. This constant need to a…2 found this helpful
Fun game but the last chapter gets difficult.
Quite a worthwhile visual and audio spectacle, with intense Hotline Miami-esque gameplay (fragile, fast, switching weapons frequently) that tests both reflexes and tactics. Got it for under a dollar and am quite satisfied. It's locked at 60 FPS so I imagine it's a good fit for a Steam Deck.
This game is one of the best blind purchases I have made. It was excellent! I played it with no expectations, but I found it to be a neat, well paced and somewhat challenging experience. The only issue I had was visual clarity of glass levels, though it was not that detrimental.
I'll give it thumbs up for style, tight controls and fluid game play. The downside is really just as I was starting to get into the game and defeat a boss, the credits start rolling. I was actually waiting for it to be a fake out and kick on to more levels, but alas it was all done and dusted. Given I paid the 90% off it was good fun for a couple bucks and an hour or two.
