About Moduwar
Moduwar is a Real-Time Strategy game that redefines the genre with its unique modular gameplay. Instead of commanding traditional units, you control the Modu, a highly adaptable native species of water-dwelling creature capable of growing, merging, and splitting their organic structures in real time. By strategically evolving different organs, you create custom units that adapt to any battle scenario.
Use resources to grow your Modu starting with the heart, the most vital organ you must protect at all costs. You can expand your Modu by growing tiles off your body and placing new organs on top of them. As you play, you learn to grow more useful and specialized organs to face any battle.
Split tiles into singular organ units to scout your enemies quickly and give yourself the strategic advantage. Split and merge multiple tiles to build your armada, combine your organs to unlock unique abilities, send them to war or merge back with your main body to stand your ground!
In the single-player campaign, you fight for survival and liberation, unlocking new organ combinations and evolving abilities while commanding one of three distinct factions, but the battle doesn’t end there.
Moduwar offers multiple game modes in addition to the single-player campaign:
Set in the rich and dangerous world of Arkadia, Moduwar immerses you in an alien ecosystem filled with awe-inspiring and terrifying creatures. However, Arkadia is under siege—two invading forces, the technologically advanced Humans and the ruthless Chimera, have enslaved the native Modu, turning them into living weapons of war.You are a Modu forced to serve the ERE - Earth Repatriation Expedition. Will you continue to fight under the ERE, or break the shackles and set yourself free?Your choices will determine the fate of all life on Arkadia, the galaxy and the Moduwar!

Super unique and fun, very addicting to me designing the different Moduspawn! Does a great job of giving that hivemind/colony feeling you get from Zerg, Carrion, The Thing and the like, although seemingly more benevolent. You can have a Medium Modu and act as a Mothership, floating around the map supporing your units, or you can settle in an area as a Hive, a highly fortified stationary Modu, sending your tendrils throughout the canyons! Some features I would love: The ability to set a forward facing on a unit that it tries to rotate to as it paths An ability to select all units and/or all units on screen, bonus points if I press a modifier button to include/exclude units currently tasked to harvesting If I press spacebar, let A and D pivot my selected units counter clockwise and clockwise If I press alt, show all healthbars, and/or put a shader on all tiles representing health status of that tile. A toggle for eyes to scatter or focus. It can be frustrating trying to snipe artillery pieces when my units are all looking at different things! I don't understand the nutrition system and the different types of nutrition.2 found this helpful
a fun rts with both creative new mechanics and the style of the classics controls and pathfinding are a bit clunky though it is still in early access so if thats not too big a deal the ni cannot reccommend this game enough1 found this helpful
Moduwar, developed by Biohex Studios and published by Firesquid, is a science-fiction real-time strategy game that takes the traditional RTS formula and rebuilds it around one of the most creative concepts the genre has seen in years. Instead of commanding armies made of tanks, soldiers, and mechanical units, players control a living alien organism capable of growing, mutating, splitting apart, and evolving during battle. This biological approach completely changes how strategy, expansion, and warfare function, creating a game that feels refreshingly original in a genre often dominated by familiar formulas. At the center of the experience is the Modu, a living creature that serves as both the player’s army and infrastructure. Rather than constructing bases and producing units through factories, players expand and reshape the organism itself by growing new body sections and specialized organs. Offensive structures create combat capabilities, defensive organs increase durability, and support mutations improve mobility or utility. Every decision physically changes the creature’s form, making army management feel organic rather than mechanical. This constantly evolving structure gives…1 found this helpful

Conceptually it is good but execution is mediocre. Ugly art/graphics. Annoying sound effects (sharp and high-pitched). Modular mechanics are interesting but ain't fun as they add extra steps for everything and controls are clunky. Cutscenes are good.
x-- 7/10 --x This was such a treat to play! I loved how different the mechanics were to the usual RTS styled games. Some levels felt a bit finnicky, but otherwise it was a very enjoyable experience! Long Live FMV!! <33
