About Adapt or Perish

Design Any Number of Units & Buildings with Precision

Blazing Performance with No Unit Caps or World Borders

Want to play in Virtual Reality? Go for it!

Adapt or Perish provides a freshly unique single-player experience. Read the FAQ for more information in the discussion boards!

Yes, there is building bases, ordering units & explosions -- but you get to do so much more, like change units & buildings on the fly, rescue lost units, hunt Overseers & see just how high of a Market Offer you can accept.

Enemies are procedurally generated, as is the world, so no two games will be alike. Difficulty is adjusted in real time to provide newbies room to learn & veterans a challenge.

The difficulty doesnt scale to my preferences and gets way to hard to fast, everything else about this game is great and unique but the enemy sending swarms of units at me before ive finished building up is not fun and ruins it for me everytime. I honestly cant even play it aftfer about thirty minutes to an hour because it gets to intense. Instead of there being one set difficulty i think one should be able to set the overseer threat level to never rise or to set limits to the threat level so new players could play a game where the overseer doesnt gain any threat level, and with each game increase the threay level till they reach the default it is now. And if any of the settings are modified those matches can be excluded from the leaderboards. I dont care one bit about getting a score on any leaderboard, but i would love to play a procedurally generated rts game where i can make my own units and buildings, AND my own difficulty. For unranked matches there could also be resource gain rate and starting amount resources for those of us that just want to have fun, because i also feel like the resources are painfully slow to gather.

I’m not very good at RTS games, so I don’t spend a lot of time on them. But I love the dev’s other games so I gave this a go. First, it seems like a new twist as there are no fixed units to start with. You create your units, balancing various types of attack an defense as well as movement. Do you make a lot of cheap, fast attackers, or a few slow, impregnable tanks? Why not some of both, and specialty units to round out your army? (Spoiler: it kicked my a**). One thing I want to point out is that I played this in VR and this added a lot to the experience. It’s very visceral when you are embedded in a translucent game field, watching enemies attack from your units’ POV. I loved some of the details the dev lavished on the VR experience. If you are an RTS fan definitely check this title out!

Needs a bit of polish visually and in the UI, but, otherwise, this game's mechanics are frickin' golden. Feels amazing to play, got trapped in it for 6 hours today. Awesome spin on an RTS.

An absolute early-access-quality game in all fronts: no edge panning; panning the screen with the keyboard happens at glacial speed; inverted mouse-wheel-to-zoom to what you'd expect from literally any other game; an interface that is so clunky, you can easily tell a dozen ways UIs from 640x480 DOS games are better designed; battlefield units and locations that are awful to parse visually... If you're looking for an RTS experiment, this might be for you at 50% off... maybe? Actual gamers looking for something to play, stay far away.
