About Phantasma VR Director's Cut
Phantasma is a VR PUZZLE GAME (inspired by the mechanics featured in" the 7th Guest" or "the 11th Hour") with a strong narrative where you step into the shoes of a deranged mind searching for the truth about a conspiracy involving the entire entertainment industry, and a TV Show hosted by an annoying Bunny called Flappy. Resolve abstract puzzles using bizarre videos and dig deeper as the story unfold. But more importantly : ARE YOU A GOOD BUNNY ? ArE YOU a GooD BuNNy ? ARE you A good BUNNY ?!?

I finished this game feeling very angry with the game itself and the people who made it. As a first impression, you start the game in one of those standard videogame creepy hospitals. After a doctor talks for a while over a speaker and the creep factor slowly ramps up, she gives you a knife and tells you to stab yourself in the chest. But you don't have a chest, because it's a VR game. What you *actually* need to do is stab yourself in the *face*. And that's the simplest and most intuitive puzzle in the game. I had to look up solutions for more than one of the surreal challenges that followed. The in-game hint-system is generous to begin with, but sometimes it can be misleading and by the end of the game it will actually insult you. This was frustrating for me. The story is either that you've been through the plot of They Live, or that you're a serial killer who only *thinks* that's what happened. The game never really commits fully to either of those explanations. This, too, was frustrating. The horror is decidedly not subtle, Almost every environment is creepy and weird, and the story is punctuated with occasional jumpscares. The tension never winds down - only up…3 found this helpful
game starts up and I can tell I will like it, now the but,I cant snap turn, I think ok I give it a try and deal with my cable rapping around me but thats no good, I am now trying to work out the order of doors, unfortunately its stressing me out,not the puzzle it self even though I haven't worked it out yet, my neck hurts and my brain and I loose the will to carry on, just finished the room VR and loved it, Im quiet happy to play a game with teleport but no snap turn just makes it to much of a pain, same as seem like a good game. A buggy janky mess
I want to enjoy this game, but I am struggling to. Not because of the content, but because I just cannot reliably interact with anything. I try to pick up an object and have to try and try and try and try and try and maybe pick it up, and then have the same problem trying to put it down. Like its just stuck in my hand until it arbitrarily flies out of my hand. I'm not sure if there are settings I can change in order to make the game playable, but for the time being its barely playable for me. I am using a valve index if that makes any difference. I could plug in my quest2 headset and try again. If that changes anything I will update my review.
Puzzles are not challenging, just needlessly difficult and the solutions make no sense. Walk back and forth down a hallway until you don't die when you touch the same door that just killed you 5 times in a row. What? Why? Because I used my left hand? That's not a puzzle. Hey, you accidentally finished this level, Congratulations, you die anyway. Not fun, bad puzzles, horrible movement controls. Very disappointing.
Well this is definitely one of the darker puzzle games I've ever played. It's a somewhat obscured escape room VR game that has some cool tricks but here's some unfortunate things that happened while playing: - grip functionality with Index controllers is extremely unpleasant. you can't just make contact and grab an item, you have to dwell on the item and then pick it up. it doesn't sound so bad at first but give it 30 minutes and it'll click. - I had multiple crashes when trying to leave a certain section of the game. It would hang on a black screen before switching to a grey static. After about a half dozen reboots it resolved itself. - no controller turning of any kind, not even snap. at that rate, we should be lucky we have smooth loco at all I suppose - the collision of items is a wreck in this game. I had to restart one of the puzzles multiple times because the letter blocks I was unscrambling would fly out of the playing area when touching each other. I don't get the feeling this game is a labor of love from the dev. It seems like something to pay the bills while working on something bigger. And even despite my list of technical problems and the general la…
