About Poveglia: The Island of No Return
"Poveglia: The Island of no Return" is our upcoming 3rd person action-horror videogame. WBStudios brings part of the history of this island, immersed in a feature film that will make you live an unforgettable experience. We want you to enter the darkness of the island to unravel the truth and put an end to the darkness in this forgotten corner of the earth.
Visit one of the darkest places in Italy where hundreds of souls were forgotten in time. After an acclaimed career as a private investigator, detective William Miller takes on one last case; the disappearance of the Family Pierangelli, which has remained in mystery for over thirty years.
William Miller is a detective who was hired in 1999 by the last descendant of the Pierangelli family to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his relatives. During his flight to Rome, a tragic incident occurs that unexpectedly leaves William on Poveglia Island. He where he will be forced to face unimaginable creatures after his attempt to discover the dark truth hidden beneath the island of Poveglia.
During his exploration, Detective William finds a mansion on the island, so he begins to look for a way to access it after hearing strange noises coming from that place, what appears to be a woman's voice.
Poveglia: Island of non return has a high narrative component, we tell a story with an already written script, so both the story and the video game will be strictly linear, without the possibility of player choice regarding the sequence of actions that occur in the game.

Starting the game the main intro doesn't have subtitles even though subtitles are on. Takes too long to switch resolutions in settings. Controls don't work right. Says click F, and I click F later on, and it is still dark; subtitles and audio are delayed. Once you passed the house by plane. Entering the room with blood on the door, it's dark; I can't see anything because the flashlight isn't working.9 found this helpful
3/10 + music - my gun would not fast equip from the scroll wheel and showed as blacked out. needed to go into my backpack to pull it out. and this got me killed.... - visual bugs like picking up a can of gas to fill tank and your holding nothing. or i walked toward something that spooked the player. before it did anything i turned around and attempted to open and a locked door, so well opening door the guy made a weird scared animation. - lots of grammatical errors. enjoyed most of them. would you lick to recharge gun with bullets? - prompts that show up telling you how to play with no text. when i died from not knowing what to do and came back 2 of the 3 prompts had text. 1st time only 1 of the 3 had text. - 1st thing that killed me caused full game crash. + game auto saved right before i had died8 found this helpful
So far the game is pretty good. Graphics are great, atmosphere is tense, game mechanics make the character feel agile and like you're in control. The inventory is easy to access and having a backpack so early on might not feel realistic but its cool and also makes you feel safe knowing you can manage youre survival easier. The fighting element is refreshing considering you dont just dodge like silent hill but you dont just need a crobar to defend yourself but youre also a former golgen glove champion who can throw a few nice jabs. The shift plus E dodge they threw in feels a little reduntant and they should have just kept the double tap WASD on the keyboard dodges. Ofcourse what do i know im only a hour in but the game picks up rather quickly hence the backpack you get straight out of the plane crash. I also put the game on hard and although it doesnt seem crazy hard (yet, also former sekiro game player) but just something about 3 enemies attacking you at once and trying to do the dumb shift plus E dodge and shoot doesnt seem right.... Maybe i can just fight with the crobar but why would anyone do that with an actual firearm. Also the enemy design is anything but frightening. The en…6 found this helpful
Poveglia really surprised me. The atmosphere, suspense, and story pull you in from the start. It still needs some polishing (as expected in this early access phase), but the passion and effort behind it are already clear. If this is just a preview, the full 100% release is going to be insane. Huge kudos to the Peruvian and international team for creating a horror experience with its own identity.5 found this helpful
