About Re:Turn 2 - Runaway

Re:Turn 2 - Runaway follows on from the events of the first game.

Re:Turn 2 - Runaway is a tense, character-driven psychological horror experience. Saki and her fiancé, Sen, are trapped on an abandoned train that is haunted by an evil spirit that takes the form of a little girl named Ayumi. Battle your way through the haunted train. Discover clues in mysterious abandoned locations. Escape from the nightmare and free the trapped souls from the clutches of the evil which has possessed them.

But, consequences have actions. Saki must be careful, or she will meet a fate worse than the lost souls aboard Ayumi’s train. In order to stay safe, Saki must decide whether she should run, hide, or confront the evil that has set its sights upon her
The thing that calls itself Ayumi is harboring a dark secret. And it’s up to Saki to uncover the truth about that darkness. But Ayumi’s evil is powerful, and if it takes hold of Saki, then all hope is lost. Saki will need to use the tools she discovers along the way to battle this evil and reveal the true history of Ayumi’s wicked ways.

Pretty much the same as the previous game... with chases, puzzles, and now telling the rest of Ayumi's story and a final conclusion for the group of friends. Really cool, I felt it was a bit shorter than the first game, but still worth it to play.
When I found the cat dead my heart was broken :(
1 found this helpful
Re:Turn 2: Runaway shifts the series toward a more hostile environment where the train itself acts as an active antagonist tracking your movements. Persistent monster threats ensure that every quiet moment is laden with tension, marking a stark departure from the primarily static puzzle-solving focus found in the original entry. Voice acting and polished cutscenes elevate the narrative presentation, making the characters' descent into madness feel far more grounded and immediate. These heightened production values successfully bridge the gap between the player and the trauma unfolding, ensuring that the aftermath of the previous journey resonates with much greater emotional weight. Exploration revolves around utilising tools like the rockhammer and various keys to unlock blocked paths across the train and its surrounding areas. Manual save points become vital necessities during these segments, forcing you to calculate your route carefully before venturing into the darker, more unpredictable sections of the map. Integrating the UV lens allows for the discovery of hidden secrets, though equipping this item temporarily halts your ability to perform other actions. Such restric…
Would I suggest this game to anyone? No.. no I would not. You're not able to change the settings so it suits you better, from my experience the controls do not always work as good as they should... So after several attempts to "enjoy" the new chapter, I decided to remove the game and waste my time on a game that actually works properly. Perhaps someday I will return... but that is definitely not now.
I really enjoyed the sequel, thank you writer and all involved in the game's creation. The puzzles, again, I loved them, and they gave me a good sense of fulfillment when i solved them on my own. And again, lovely character designs and gorgeous pixel graphics. I enjoyed the story allot, i was in a proper mood to consume it. it was a good relaxation break for me. I was so happy for Saki, both endings were a good resolution, but especially the best ending, i feel worry free now. Thank you to the author and developers for the happy ending, I'm satisfied and recommend this game and the prequel to others.
I really enjoyed the first part of the game, which is why I decided to purchase the second half. Overall, I liked the experience, but I was disappointed with the endings. While we do find out why Ayumi became demonic, the story doesn’t clearly explain why she was chosen to be tricked by the devil in the first place, or why she specifically uses Saki’s friends. Her side of the story feels underdeveloped and not very well connected to the rest of the plot. Because Ayumi is also a victim, I was hoping the true ending would explore whether there was another way to save everyone — not just Saki’s friends and the cat, but also offer some kind of peace or resolution for Ayumi’s soul. Instead, the true ending feels incomplete and slightly illogical, as if an important part of the narrative is missing. Honestly, this feels like a storyline that would work better as a DLC or an additional chapter to fully explain Ayumi’s role and motivations. As it stands, the second half of the game doesn’t quite feel logical enough as a final conclusion, which is a shame because everything else was strong.
Wonderful game! The story, characters, music, VA, everything is good! In comparison with the first part, art and animation have improved a lot. It's worth its money. Unfortunately, the translation to Russian was a bit incorrect sometimes, but it's not a big deal. I'd recommend buying this game. Sadly only a small amount of people played it. I'll wait for your new games, and definitely will buy them!
