Platform 8 is a very simple puzzle/horror game. The basic premise of the game is very similar to The Exit 8, the game’s prequel – except this time, you are trapped in a subway car instead of an endless hallway, and the solution to the anomalies isn’t to turn around and run away, but instead to interact with them in some way. This is much less “find the hidden object” and more a straight-up puzzle game, albeit a very simple one, where each anomaly presents a different (simple) puzzle to be solved. The game is not very long – you must solve 8 anomalies to complete the game, and there’s a couple dozen anomalies in total that you encounter at random. Solving 8 in a row gets you out of the subway car and gets you the normal ending; solving all the anomalies (which you can do after you beat the game normally) gives you the true ending. There’s also a third secret “bad ending” you can get by failing one of the anomalies. Overall, it’s a very short and simplistic game. It is very “bite sized” – beating the game is likely to take you less than an hour, and 100%ing it less than two hours – but it is decent enough for what it is. Platform 8 is a great sequel to Exit 8. It stays true to spirit of the anomaly-hunting genre. While the vibe is very similar to the previous game, it still offers its own unique, satisfying experience.
Honestly was pleasantly surprised with this game, it's less frustrating then it's predecessor (exit 8) and the anomalies are more interesting in my opinion. Now the game is very short and I can see that being an issue but I think it's worth a play through (even though it's just exit 8 but on a train). I'd give this game a 7/10 (it's a bit too short) but I'd say it's worth full price. Keep your eyes open for those weird signs.
it took me a bit to figure out how to progress but i figured it out i liked the ending
3/10
