About Stitched Together
Stitched Together is an RPG adventure with a deep story, unique battle mechanics, world-defying stakes, and a whole extra dimension!
Take the role of Gwen Colgrave - an adventurous college student with a point to prove once she returns home. She'll stumble upon a bigger world with bigger consequences than she ever signed up for, but alongside her long-time friends, Gwen will have no choice but to save her world from being torn apart at the seams, no matter what, or who, stands in her way.
In Stitched Together, you'll progress through turn-based battles, all while leveling up, gaining experience, and growing your bonds to unlock new abilities! Explore Gwen's hometown of Flipside and many other places to meet plenty of wild and lovable characters, manipulate and transform the world around you, discover hidden secrets and collectibles, and learn more about the mysterious parallel world known as the Fabric!
Beyond the knowledge of most people, there lies a parallel world to our own called "The Fabric" - a perfect recreation of reality, where patchwork, textiles, and stitches build everything we know, from our towns and homes to the forests and plains of nature. Change something in the Fabric, and it changes in our world, and vice versa. With this knowledge, someone has been tearing apart the Fabric for an unknown purpose, causing both objects and events to simply disappear from reality. When Gwen and her friends learn of this disaster unfolding in the Fabric, they have no choice but to investigate the cause of the disappearances, and Gwen's unknown, unwilling connection to them.
Two Lived-In and Explorable Worlds
Gwen and her friends have the special ability to travel between the real world and the Fabric at any time, and so do you! These two worlds exist in tandem, and both hold their own individual secrets, civilizations, gameplay mechanics, and more! You'll need to master switching between worlds and using their mechanics to solve environmental puzzles and progress through locations!
Charming, Deep Characters and Stories
There's plenty to learn about Gwen, her friends, and the worlds of people and places around them! Through the party's Contacts, you can prioritize and influence the relationships of Gwen's friend group, learning about their friendships, relationships, experiences, and much more!
Engaging and Unique Battle Mechanics
Gwen and her friends rely on each other for success! With their Contacts, any two party members can team up and use abilities in battle that are unique to that pair, leading to dozens and dozens of unique Link Skills across fifteen unique collections of skills!
“What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?” -Vincent van Gogh
Stitched Together - A charming indie RPG full of heart Stitched Together really surprised me in a positive way. At first glance, it looks like a small indie RPG with a minimalist art style, but the more you play, the more you realize how much content and heart has actually been put into this game. You follow Gwen, a college student who returns to her small hometown during the summer holidays, spending time with her friends before a new chapter of her life begins. The story starts off pleasantly grounded and portrays the challenges of young adulthood in a very relatable way. This is exactly what makes the characters feel so likeable and authentic. The dialogue is well-written and fits perfectly with the relaxed tone of the game. Not everything is voiced, but the most important scenes are – and the English voice acting feels natural and pleasant rather than overly polished. Over time, you get to know Gwen’s circle of friends more and more. Each character has their own personality and represents different lifestyles and social themes. This creates a strong group dynamic, whic…5 found this helpful
REVIEW EDITED I love the style and individuality of this SP RPG, it's delightful to look at and play. It's also different in that it's kind of a puzzle RPG in that as well as levelling up and following a main quest, you'll need to complete mini-quests similar to point and click adventures along the way to help you unlock the travel-by-map needed to progress. But those aesthetics, they're great - a kind of 2D Parappa in a 3D(ish) world where your view is restricted to always forwards, your movement is restricted and you feel like you're in a comic book. I guess this will frustrate some trad 3D RPG players but it's very much a part of how the game works and once you get that, you'll work out how to use it to your advantage, such as battle avoidance (or purposeful battle to grind up stats) It's not too grindy though, the battles are traditional turn play and in the rare event you get defeated you can restart and try a different approach. You do need to take some fights to ensure you level up enough but we're not talking about kill 90 badgers levels of grind! The game does well in making you know roughly how powerful you are with few sudden leaps in enemy difficulty. There's a nice …5 found this helpful
Only up to the boss of the
Skyview Corporation
dungeon as of writing but I really cant resist it at this point. I'm completely in love with the character writing, the dynamics between everyone feel incredibly reminiscent of character dynamics present in Revelations Persona and Innocent Sin with how seamlessly each character (and their struggles) seem to bounce off both one another. The slow introduction and handling of neurodivergence and trans/queerness with select characters feel incredibly strong and intentional, no one in the cast feels like a filler piece or particularly more "fleshed out" than anyone else which feels like a rather great feat for a cast of 5. Interweaving combat with the narrative also feels particularly fresh in that Link Skills rely on your willingness to engage with each characters inner bonds/narratives but these specific scenes being accessible at your own pace keeps the downtimes between dungeon crawling still feel engaging, I often find myself in my own rhythm of taking time between dungeons instead of rushing to the next one. While some characters links are mechanically stronger than others and some party members having clearer u…3 found this helpful
I really like this game's art for how bold and colorful it is. The conversations are down-to-earth. There's voice acting and I like it! The music is good too. I'm curious to know more about the VAs, but I unfortunately the credits are blocked until I complete the entire game. Bummer. As much as I like the art and the voice work, I'm not going to finish this. I've been progressing through the game slowly, so I'm only at the first dungeon. You'll probably get to where I am before you have as much playtime as me. I expected, given the presentation in the trailer, that the dungeon camera would be the typical kind of camera where it's over you and slightly behind you. The usual. No. The dungeon camera is mostly fixed. However, when you round a corner, the game instantly loads the new map. There's one spot where there's a large room. As I walk toward the camera, it will jump forward at certain points. The issue here is not that the movement is random, but the *sudden* nature of the movement. I feel like my eyes need to take a break. Combat is a bit disappointing so far. It feels like there's a delay between when I select to attack and when I can actually select to punch. I can't find …2 found this helpful
I've only just scratched the surface of this game, but my initial thoughts are: Really cute and I'm digging the Paper Mario vibe (2D characters in a 3D environment) Fun and easy to play. Standard RPG mechanics, but they serve the game well, and it honestly doesn't need tons of bells or whistles when the gameplay is solid. Great Voice Acting. So far every voiced character's VA has done an awesome job. Love to see it! My only real point of complaint/critique is the menu/UI. It's not BAD, but it's a little clunky. There's a button that brings up the phone, and I feel they really missed an opportunity (the devs) to have the phone be the main 'in-game' UI for everything. As it sits, you have to hit the start/pause button to access the equip and item menu. However, one odd bit (maybe I'm missing something?) is there's no true status/XP section anywhere, to see how close your character is to a level or anything. Other than that, this is a pretty solid game at the start, and I'm looking forward to continuing it!2 found this helpful
I'm so glad to review this one because it's the first key I got thanks to my curator steam page, and I enjoy it a lot. Stitched Together is an adorable game, made with a lot of heart. It's a narrative rpg with homemade persona 4 vibes. Despite a bit rough artstyle, the game have a lot of charm and the music and voicing are pretty good. I got intrigued by the story also, the coming of age vibe really give an heartwarming feel despite some corny dialogue sometimes. Really a nice one that surprised me the good way. Beware it's controller only for now !2 found this helpful
