Magic is a curse. A plague upon the world and those that live in it. Those that are born with this curse unwittingly sap the mana from the earth they stand in. In order to prevent these abominations from draining away the world's lifeblood, they are locked away in a castle in an isolated dimension. It is in this castle that the cursed are to remain, removed from society so that their magic does not harm normal people. They are to be kept here for the rest of their miserable lives.
At least, that's the way it should have been...
Suddenly, a loud crash is heard. A young girl, kept apart from the rest of the castle, looks up from the ground. The magical barrier that prevented her escape slowly dissipates. Standing up, she pushes open the gate and finds her first taste of freedom. Guide her as she teams up with a renegade mage boy to search for the truth behind the castle, her unique magic, and a way to escape.

Isolation weighs like in a void every level is a fight with silence and I still don’t see the way out here.
Remnants of Isolation is a short but genuinely memorable RPG that surprised me with how much it accomplished in just a few hours. The spell fusion system — where you chain one character's innate abilities with the other's equipped spells to create combo effects — gives battles a satisfying layer of strategy that keeps fights from feeling like a slog. The relationship between Celesta and Melchior comes through remarkably well despite the limited dialogue, and the atmospheric music does a lot of heavy lifting to make the castle feel alive and mysterious. It's not without flaws: the story is mostly pieced together through scattered notes, the dungeons can feel repetitive, and the whole thing wraps up faster than you'd like. That said, for the price — especially on sale — it's a polished little gem worth an evening of your time.

A short, tight game that respects your time and gives a good story with good mechanical ideas.
Remnants of Isolation, developed by KOMODO, is a JRPG-style game centered on two characters attempting to escape a magical prison. While its story is simple and serviceable, the game truly shines due to its inventive twist on RPG Maker's core combat mechanics. Mechanics that reinforce the characters and the story. In the game, you play as Celesta, a mute protagonist experiencing her first taste of freedom after a lifetime of captivity in a magical castle. She runs into Melchior, a rogue mage who has also become trapped within the same castle. Together, they unravel their pasts and fight to escape. The narrative reveals each character's motivations organically and delivers a satisfying conclusion, with three possible endings based on your choices. Visually, the game makes the most of RPG Maker’s capabilities. Well-drawn cutscenes bring the characters and monsters to life, and each level features a distinct style that keeps navigation clear and intuitive. While some of the monster designs are surprisingly gory for an otherwise light-hearted tone, this doesn't distract much from the overall experience. What sets the game apart is its engaging turn-based magical combat system.…
If you are looking for a game that won't take much time to beat. And also won't break your bank. Then you've found the perfect game. I think my favorite things about the game were: 1.The music: Albeit there weren't very many different songs. But the ones in it, were quite lovely.) 2.The Stages: Although a short and small game, they fit in several different/interesting and unique areas.) 3.The story: Even though it is short and not super descriptive, it leaves room for wonder and also for a potential second game. Perhaps?) The thing I liked least about the game was, the main characters. Celesta, I want to like so badly. And I do, to a degree. But that"hair?"~ and those weird dots on her skin, don't make any sense. She looks too much like some sort of mermaid. Which doesn't really fit into this game. As far as I know anyways. And Melchior, just looks like a typical side character. He's just way too bland. But overall. I don't regret giving this game a chance. And I can say, it would be nice if one day the creator comes out with a continuation of the game. I'd like to at least know more of the story, if there is any.
