Conversation is a dangerous game. This short narrative puzzle will submerse you in an atmospheric world of tension-filled sci-fi where manipulating a fractured band of deep-sea divers is the key to survival. Uncover alliances and expose betrayals — before your leaky sub fills with water, or something even more horrific from the depths silences you all. Pick your mission, and release your submersible SubVee into an unrelenting sea. Will you side with the Surfacers, who keep the dangers of the depths at bay from their overworld city? Or will you align yourself with a diverse cast of misfits from an underwater base, hidden in the deepest fathoms of the dark? Your SubVee is a dilemma to the divers who find you. Follow hints from the surface to offer them the right handles at the right time. You need their agreement to move forward, but it won't come easily. Navigate a dark maze of emotional dynamics to find leverage to guide them toward consensus.Time is limited—your leaky SubVee is slowly filling with water. Alright. [i]Sub-Verge[/i] is done and dusted. This is a Lovecraftian Narrative Puzzle game wherein you, an anonymous soul from the surface, are (based on your faction choice) either exiled or escape into the ocean in a one-man sub (which looks more like a diving bubble). Anyway, from there you will meet some of the people already living in a base underwater, who will debate what to do with you until they finally decide on a course of action. On repeat, lol. The story set-up is that people on the surface have begun living in floating cities due to some largely apocalyptic event, presumably Lovecraftian in nature. People are no longer allowed to access the ocean, however. Except, some people have rebelled and built a base in the deeps to get away from the totalitarian regime on the surface. As mentioned, you will choose one or the other faction as your origin, which then informs the reason for you getting into the sub to begin with. As you descend, divers (scouts/patrols) from the underwater rebel base begin to find you as a result of your sub emitting light, something that also will draw the attention of the Lovecraftian horrors living in the depths as well. [h1]Short Review:[/h1] – Pretty art style – Interesting characters and ideas – Mission and world were vague – Endings made no sense – Choices were minimal and felt a bit pointless – Puzzle element was mediocre – Overall, had potential but disappointing [h1]Full Review:[/h1] Unfortunately, this game disappointed me. It felt like a case of trying to do two things (puzzle and story) but not putting enough focus into either. [b]What I Liked:[/b] – The art style is so pretty. What you see in the trailer is what you get, no extras, but it’s nice. – The characters, their backstories, their interpersonal drama, and some of the things in this world that they revealed were really interesting and memorable. I really liked the interactions between the divers and learning more about them. This could’ve made for a great game (or book), but this specific gameplay just wasn’t the right medium for it because it didn’t go in-depth enough. Spoilers: [spoiler]I really wanna know more about whatever Imphrey and Trembath have going on. It seems so toxic. Or maybe it’s good for them. I don’t know, but I’m fascinated. Boring conversation-heavy puzzle game where interaction is secondary and the setup is not interesting enough to care about.

i found it a bit boring, sorry.
If you truly think you would enjoy reading an imaginative underwater dystopian narrative with less emphasis on gameplay than story and are decent at logic puzzles this could be lots of fun but, you really have to be in a very focused reading mood. I went in thinking this would mostly be like a logic puzzle and wasn't paying a ton of attention so I failed constantly, which would be fine if they didn't make you repeat the same dialogue over and over again. It got extremely frustrating, every time you make a mistake you have to get past like 20 lines of dialogue you may have already read. It would have been nice to have a skip dialogue button or some sort of feature that tells you "hey you accidentally clicked the same exact pattern again dummy!" but otherwise the story is really cool and it's a very atmospheric unique game.
