About No Longer Home
Bo and Ao are graduating university and preparing to leave the flat they’ve lived in together for a year. Thanks to visa limitations, Ao is forced to return to Japan, leaving Bo in England. Disillusioned by post-educational life and shoved aside by a government who doesn’t want them there, both are trying to come to terms with their uncertain futures. And deep under their South London flat, something grows...
Wander through an intimate flat and examine the everyday belongings of Bo and Ao. Have BBQs, play video games, and stay up late just talking in bed. Follow the day to day activities and conversations of two queer, non-binary students and their friends. Get to know Lu, the multi-eyed, animal-like new flatmate.
No Longer Home was born when the developers were similarly forced apart after university, and decided to stay in touch by working on a game together. Development duo Hana and Cel chose this project as a way to explore and express the emotions that came with saying goodbye.
The Hardest Years
Are always the ones we just got through now. We will always feel as if we are imposters in a world not made for us, a world tilted against us. It will always feel like there is no place that will take us, but there is always someone. A very weird visualization where walls fly and dreams or nightmares come true as the text flies by. It's a very much coming of age story and heavy on text which you have to really take in to get the feeling of hopelessness that every student feels as they finish a degree and find there is no work, and that there is no place to call home....yet.
Students know Everything
It is often said, the most dangerous thing in the world is a student, they know everything but have no idea how little they know yet. They will entertain ideas of rioting and of overturning the system which seems to not only have put them in terrible debt, but does not care about them. It even hates them, forces them underground. The game will take you underground in a way, under the skin of what it is to be a student.
Gender Identity Themes
If gender is your hobby horse, reign it in and play anyway. But you have been warned, this game thro…3 found this helpful

It's a personal story that really resonated with me.
A beautiful point and click experience. Many elements I was not expecting (the game with friends, Lu, Gi) give the game additional depth, I loved these moments. I found the zooming in/out effects and moving walls so clever and poetic. I have not related to everything, though I was somehow expecting I would relate to much more, and I think I liked that it was the case, feels good to see the world with other lenses. Thanks a lot
Brilliant game, may have nearly cried
I really enjoyed the graphics and visuals on this one! There are some really unique setpieces here and there that kept me engaged the whole game. I can tell this was a very personal experience for the dev and while some of it went over my head, I did enjoy my time here and I hope it brought some closure for its creator.
