Starlink: Battle for Atlas

Generally fun, easy to play game, but Ubisoft Connect breaks the DLC. I purchased in April of 2024, deluxe edition with additional dlc pack. Have been playing on and off fine. Now April 2026, the Ubisoft Connect updated itself, and now the game won't recognize any of my DLC. Uninstalled Game, Ubisoft connect, delinked account. Reinstalled everything, relinked account, still no go. Ubisoft Support didn't help. Dealing with this Publisher isn't worth any more of my money or time.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas, developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft, is an open-world space adventure that blends arcade-style dogfighting with planetary exploration and light RPG progression. Always, fun and exciting to start a game of Starlink after having not played it for several years. Quickly, I start to remember why I never finished it. Besides the technical issues (120Hz/FPS cap in full screen, inability to use RTX HDR in borderless windowed mode, issues with Intel high core CPUs, issues with virtualization, etc.), the game gets extremely repetitive and boring fast. The story is a complete snooze fest. It becomes very apparent early on that you are not playing to enjoy the story. So, the gameplay must be the reason? Nope, it is extremely repetitive. You basically do the same two to three tasks over and over and over and over again... What a boring game! Update happened in April and now DLC that people paid for no longer works. Oh, and then there's Ubisoft Connect...

DLC doesn't register to your account upon buying on steam. Ubisoft side issue. You can still buy it here but they wont help you gain access to it heads up avoid dlc and this game honestly. There is a work around to start the game in offline mode. then switch online afterward to work around issue.

Its good game...very fun to play

Ok, game is really fun. I enjoy building outposts and managing resources that building consumes. If you have problem that "game can not run on virtual machine", go to "Turn Windows features on or off" and turn off Hyper-V, Windows Hypervisor Platofrm and Virtual Machine platform, then restart the PC. Also, I play with physical ships and figures (on Dual Shock) and for me it is really fun concept. Also, combat in game is really fluid and you need to figure out which weapon does most demage to specific enemies. Though, I think this game needs more types of freelance missions, maybe transporting passengers. I played Galaxy on Fire 2 and I think this game had much more potential of adding more side mission types. All in all, recommended game if you like space shooter dogfight games.
