About STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions
STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions is a new multiplayer game set within the Astroneer universe with a focus on discovery, online cooperative play, and camaraderie. Exploring deep space on the ESS Starseeker, players will need to work together with the crew of the space station to complete objectives that will take them further into the unknown Regions of each planet. Plan and deploy on timed Expeditions to gather resources, complete missions, and further the goals of you, your Squad, and the entire station.

The ESS Starseeker orbits unknown planets in the hopes of discovering the mysteries within. The Starseeker crew works together to venture deeper, unlocking new Landing Sites in a collective effort that will take players to new Regions, unique biomes with their own specific gameplay. Planet Tephra is the first stop, a world of sprawling wetlands, dense jungles, and vast oceans, covered in the wreckage of an ill-fated EXO Dynamics voyage.

Every planet is filled with a variety of encounters! Interesting and dangerous creatures, hazardous flora, and mysterious forces await the crew. Work together with your squad to complete missions that can be solved in a variety of ways but always requiring you to think on your feet. Then take the spoils back up to the station to craft more advanced gear to take on even more dangerous missions.
Players will have an advanced set of tools at their disposal to tackle Expeditions while they face off with the unknown perils of space. Complete missions assigned by the station's leadership and other members of the crew to unlock new blueprints and tailor your own custom loadout. You'll need it if you plan on braving the planet's toughest challenges.
The ESS Starseeker is the heart of the crew, an ever-evolving space station where players get together to plan Expeditions, upgrade their gear, and hang out with other players. Complete missions given by the Fronteer Force, the cast of elite Explorers who command the ESS Starseeker. Get to know the characters, learn about the lore, and unravel the mystery of what's really going on out here in deep space...

✦ AI summary
Players praise the game's fun exploration mechanics, great audio design, and casual cooperative gameplay, particularly appreciating the lore connections to Astroneer. However, common complaints include insufficient content and things to do, lack of explanation for accessing major points of interest, bugs and stability issues especially with unstable internet, and disappointment from those who expected more new content beyond the playtest phase.
If you're on the fence, just wait for a few months. It could go either way.3 found this helpful
First of all: It is not Astroneer2 For what it is, a funny PVE multiplayer resource collection game it is great. It is in active development as early access games are, so don't expect a finished and polished game here.2 found this helpful
Still in alpha so far. Still good so far1 found this helpful
Nice update to graphics and eniroments over Astroneers. Though i miss the whole reseach and development, and ability to build bases and vehicles, trains and rail are missed. Game fels so likely so many other multiplayer games with limited arena times and avatar advancement. If the new features of the game engine were applied to the old gameplay it would be a major improvement.
most fun i've had with my friends in a while
You can say what you want about this game. I think it's a work of art. Sure, communication could be better on one end, but that's not what this review is about... or is it? The game itself is fun. I've always enjoyed games like this. The only reason I even came to this game in the first place was because I loved Astroneer. I absolutely LOVE the art style. If you're expecting it to be like Astroneer, it isn't. It's an entirely different genre with a completely different style of gameplay. It's not Astroneer 2, so don't treat it like it is. Overall, I think it's a great game. I already love it to death.
