Players appreciate this cheap, short hidden-object game for its distinctive comic book art style and faithful adaptation of the Blake and Mortimer source material, with some enjoying the integration of puzzles into comic panels. However, many criticize poorly designed object placement—items are either illogically hidden (like a flask represented as a puddle) or not genuinely disguised at all (coins, rocks, and dust piles scattered around without camouflage)—along with inconsistent labeling and malfunctioning mini-games that undermine the experience despite the game's modest price and brief run
Pretty short HOPA (hidden-object puzzle adventure) which was like a tie-in to an old European comic book of the Tintin variety. In fact, it follows the story of the two Blake and Mortimer albums titled The Curse of the Thirty Denarii pretty closely. Nice clear-line art of the characters which sometimes clashed with the more realistic but blurry 3d-rendered environments. I liked how hidden objects were sometimes integrated in comic panels. It took me around 1h20 to complete using hints for 3 hidden objects. It's cheap and gets a passing grade mostly because it looks so different than the usual game of this type.10 found this helpful

Blake and Mortimer: The Curse of the Thirty Denarii, developed by Mzonestudio and published by Microïds Indie, is a story-driven hidden object adventure that draws directly from the long-running comic series of the same name. It places players alongside the iconic duo as they unravel a mystery tied to an ancient and dangerous relic, blending historical intrigue with light puzzle-solving. The foundation of the experience is its narrative, which carries the weight of an established storyline filled with conspiracies, archaeology, and classic adventure themes, giving the game an immediate sense of purpose and direction. The gameplay is built around traditional hidden object mechanics, where players explore a sequence of locations and search for specific items within detailed scenes. These segments are interspersed with simple puzzles and mini-games that aim to break up the flow, offering brief moments of interaction beyond object-finding. The overall structure is easy to follow, making it accessible to players of all experience levels. Hints and guidance systems ensure that progression rarely becomes frustrating, which helps maintain a relaxed pace throughout the game. However, the …1 found this helpful
I finished it, its functional (most of the times), but not good. ---------------------------------------------------------------- In this hidden object game, you will have to find: · 15 piles of dust; · 10 rocks; · more rocks; · twigs; · 10 stalactites; · 10 stalagmites (yes, really); · 29 denarii coins (each clicked separately of course, no they aren't hidden); · black objects on black background; · rifles labelled "shotgun(s)"; · Canopic jar labelled "Egyptian statue" (we play as an archaeologist btw, who doesn't know the difference between a jar and a statue, "eh, who cares, its egyptian, right?"); · Comic panels within a comic (why??? just tiny squares with white outline, again they aren't disguised) About mini games: · Sliding puzzles barely work, like pieces don't slide (this seems like an old android game, maybe it works better on smartphones, idk); · Match 3 is so easy, it makes it pointless This game is low resolution, the text in comic cutscenes is pixelated. Game is either stretched out (with top portion of comic cutscenes being cut off), or it plays in a small window. Skip this one.1 found this helpful
Because apparently a "flask of oil" is a puddle on the ground and not, you know, the actual flask just an inch away. Just one of many gripes with this game. That one just really stood out because, knowing how these hidden object games can be sometimes, I'd started clicking anything that could remotely be considered a container for oil, or even just oil. Including that puddle. Three times. Finally caved and used the hint button for the first, and last, time. It was that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ puddle.1 found this helpful
