Is Kinguin legit and safe?

Is Kinguin safe to buy from?

Reasonably, with one catch. A faulty key is reported to the seller through Kinguin's Resolution Center and only escalated to Kinguin if the two of you can't agree; Kinguin's support doesn't handle faulty-key reports directly. The 'Buyer Protection' Kinguin now advertises is a perk of its paid KING's Pass subscription. Once you claim a key you lose the right to withdraw, so check the seller's rating and the key's region first. Its best-known incident dates from 2015, when Ubisoft deactivated Far Cry 4 keys sold through several resellers including Kinguin, which says it refunded the buyers.

We can verify how Kinguin prices, not how it will treat a given order, so we don't publish a safety score of our own. What the data above does tell you is whether it is genuinely cheaper often enough to be worth the trade-offs of its model. For the wider question, our study comparing keyshops with official stores across 105 games sets out where the savings are real and where buying official wins.

We may earn a commission if you buy through our links. It never changes your price and never affects the ranking — the cheapest offer is always shown first.
