About Fragments

FRAGMENTS is a 2D, psychological, twisted piece of interactive fiction set in the very near future. You play as Evan, a young guy wrestling with his own mind as to whether he did, or did not do a serious crime.
Should he fail to get to the bottom of the truth via reconstructions of some of his most traumatizing memories, he risks spending the rest of his life behind bars. Two detectives stand in his way, and both claim it is in Evan's best interests to deliver them the information they need.
Make decisions. Affect outcomes. Inhabit Evan's mind, and shape his conclusion at the facility.
Features
- Unfold the creepy, unsettling events that have led to Evan's unfortunate situation.
- Help Evan accept his fate and move forward with his life.
- Listen to Evan's conscience, or go against it? That's your call.
- A chilling, original soundtrack, crafted specifically for Fragments.
- Two possible endings. How will things play out?

They try to make this more interesting with sci-fi elements and quizzes but that doesn't cover up the fact that you're essentially just watching a couple scenes from a generic Lifetime TV movie, the ending of which you already know. First time playthrough: 45 minutes 4/103 found this helpful
I would rate this neutral; it's cheap and feels like a short scene from "Always Sometimes Monsters". The dialogue was a bit too slow for my taste, and could benefit from not being -this- predictable from the start.3 found this helpful
A short but powerful game. The writing had me kept me guessing and second guessing my choices, and the dystopian setting just compounds the experience. Incredible work from Codapill and the team, the game is an absolute steal and well worth your time to play multiple times and experience all it has to offer. Looking forward to more from this developer in the future!2 found this helpful
Intriguing mystery game. Really enjoyed it.2 found this helpful
Polished, bite-sized RPGmaker game that tells a mystery story with a compelling premise. The interactive elements were more "along for the ride", kind of like a visual novel. But I honestly kind of prefer that, as it was still really interesting to experience Evan's story as it unfolded. The last segment was great--super immersive. Excellent UI and audio design overall despite any distinctly RPGmaker assets. The text scrolls rather slow, and it would benefit from some kind of skipping ahead, but for a $1 game made several years ago I'm not particularly pressed. The concept as a whole seems well put together and has a lot of promise, so I look forward to seeing what this dev's future projects will look like.
