让我支配你 is a very short visual novel that surprised me with how confidently it commits to its unusual premise. I play as a female protagonist who finds herself caught up with a school bully and a troublesome student council president, and the story quickly turns into a chaotic mix of romance, violence and dark comedy. I liked that it does not pretend to be a conventional romance and instead embraces its much stranger tone from the beginning. The gameplay is mostly focused on reading dialogue and making choices, with the decisions I make helping determine how the relationships develop. There is not a complicated gameplay system here, but the branching structure gives me a reason to think about which direction I want the story to take. I enjoyed seeing how different personalities react to the protagonist, especially because she is much more aggressive and dominant than the typical visual novel lead. The characters are definitely the main attraction for me. Ji Wenchuan and Lin Zimo have very different personalities, which helps the routes feel distinct even within such a short story.
