About High Strangeness
High Strangeness is a hybrid of 8 and 16 bit games - a 12 bit adventure. The inspiration of the game comes from many Action-Adventure and RPG games such as Legend of Zelda, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana. The game's core ability is to switch between 8 and 16 bit worlds and the player uses their generational differences to solve puzzles and explore the universe. Throughout the game your pixel art perspective of the world will be infused with visions of watercolor illustrations that shed some light on your mysterious surroundings. The chiptune soundtrack by Dino Lionetti and Rich Vreeland backs up the aesthetic of the world and sets the mood for strange happenings.
High Strangeness is about a young man named Boyd, who explores a series of sci-fi / paranormal inspired happenings. He soon finds himself on a quest to discover the secrets of a mysterious item, after unwittingly being dragged into a foreign world filled with the evil and mysterious Shadow Men. Although hesitant at first, our hero eventually realizes his role in a cosmic battle for peace throughout all universes.

Trying to explore mysteries feels like an old film - a bit lost and strange. My attempts to understand it are like searching for missing keys in a dark room with a blindfold!2 found this helpful
I first heard about High Strangeness from a Slope’s Game Room video. Its history and distinct art style immediately caught my attention, so I added it to my wishlist. I ended up receiving it as a Christmas gift and started playing right away, finishing it the same day. I’d heard it compared to Zelda, which feels accurate in the 8-bit dimension. The 16-bit sections, however, reminded me more of a more polished Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku. The story is a bit cliché, but it’s fun, charming, and doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s also very approachable if you’re someone who likes to get a 100% completion. Overall, High Strangeness is a truly wonderful hidden gem on the Steam store.
Interesting concept for a game, switching between styles (8bit & 16bit). Great pixel art, cool story and funny dialogue. 7/10 old but nice, i was a bit stuck at the end but gt it in the end

I like the game concept on paper, but I got stuck early in the game with bugs that as far as I can tell broke the game and trapped me. Maybe I'll come back to it again, but after that it's hard to recommend.
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…
