[h1] Information / Review English [/h1] Kind Heart Defenders falls into the genre of 2D shooter with tower defense, developed by LUDO Thinkingl. [h1] Gameplay / Story [/h1] As a kind-hearted pilot, your job is to defend the Crystal Heart from the enemy invaders. These powers represent emotions such as fear, sadness and anger. When you start a level, you will have a small text exchange between your pilot and the villain. These exchanges are quite charming, with your character trying to literally defeat them with kindness by offering hugs or cake rather than using vengeful violence. You can still defeat enemies with lasers, like in a typical space shooter, but when you do, the enemies explode in an enchanting show of colorful confetti, which only adds to the warm charm of the game. The graphics are pretty straightforward, but are bursting with positivity. In addition, you have a pleasant cosmic soundtrack that soothes the soul while you defend your heart. One feature I really liked is that when you try to leave the game, you are offered cake to stay with, which is very sweet. "Kind Heart Defenders" is a blend of space shooter with tower defense. It's primarily a shooter game though, since you can possibly win without building a single tower but, not vice versa. You are playing as an aviator trying to save the Kind world (by protecting the heart), so you have 2 health bars to be mindful of. There are 4 different planes with distinct characteristics that change how you'll approach the level. On top of that, there are upgrades which make the game easier, and power-ups that you purchase at the start of a level with currency gained from previous gameplays. Cool bosses at the end of each stage. Adding missions and difficulties was a fantastic idea as you'll never be bored even after beating the game. Upon completion, a ranked stage unlocks that includes all the stages in sequence. Show off your skills in the leaderboards! The story is really sweet and our heroes and villains each have a distinct personality. Touching and funny dialogues, cute graphics, cool soundtrack and flawless gameplay make for an exceptional combo! Excellent idea to mix the shmup and tower defense genres, I've never thought about the possibility of this mix but the developers made some really interesting stuff here. There's a respectable amount of directions to go with the gameplay thanks to the upgrade system, good ship variety and different towers to build during the action. Plus the ascending difficulty levels for each stage and multiple specific challenges can add a good replay value to the whole package. The core gameplay loop is good and addicting. Presentation is very colorful but with minimalistic animations, there's this "static" feel to it that I'm not a big fan of and I think it gets the job done but it could be better. Sometimes I can't notice when I get hit because there's a lack of feedback between some interactions, bullet visibility can be an issue at times. There's little to no feedback for some stuff that really needed to be more indicative for the player, enemies barely produce any kind of sound and another example of this "lack of feedback indicator for the player" is that there's no brief description for what each tower can do before building them. cute game and good ideas, but janky, unpolished. biggest flaw would be the hit boxes. just too large for this type of game.

WOW! Hidden Gem. I know this game has been described as a tower defense shmup (shoot em' up) combination, and although that description is accurate, Kind Heart Defenders is much more. I would describe it as an easy going calming shmup with an upgrade-able ship while building turrets to protect your heart (your base). For similar types of games check out my curator page. This is very nice graphically. The Game is challenging for sure. The sounds could be better. The problem I have with this and lately many other shootem ups is AUTOFIRE .. I HATE IT .. It takes away from the in action feeling when you press the buttons and shoot. I HATE AUTO FIRE .. It really impacts the fun of the game. I will still give this a recommendation for it is a very nice quality shootem up game. Please developers STOP WITH THE AUTOFIRE... Jeeeesh Man ...
