i feel like this game deserves a remaster or sequel. the community for it is small but i feel like thats due to paradox seemingly shelving it before it could really spread its wings and come into its own. if it were to be revived im sure it could succeed, even if the success comes at the cost of dlc peddling like the rest of their games. if you can catch this game on sale then i really recommend giving it at least a try, especially if youre into hearts of iron.

March of the Eagles is seriously underrated and I’ll defend this weird little Napoleon game forever. Yeah, let’s be honest first: it’s rough. Graphics are kinda bland, the whole thing feels less polished than other Paradox games, and you can tell this was probably a fast project they pushed out quickly. There’s random jank, weird bugs here and there, and sometimes the UI feels like it’s held together with old paper and gunpowder. But man… I had a stupid amount of fun with it. There’s just something about managing those Napoleonic wars, alliances constantly exploding, giant armies marching around Europe, everybody betraying everybody, it captures that chaotic era really well despite all the rough edges. It’s also way more approachable than some other Paradox games. You can actually jump in and start causing continental disasters without needing 14 encyclopedias open and 378 hours of tutorials. If you love strategy games and anything related to Napoleon, this is absolutely worth playing despite the jank. 8/10, rushed game with the soul of a much bigger one.

Wonder if im allowed to write this even without steams steam guard fascism? Anyways the game is an exercise in finding and releasing vassals. It is however BADLY half finished with LOADS of missing even historical never mind other releasables states.
