Knights of Honor is a prime relic of mid-2000s Euro-jank, published under the Paradox umbrella back when they specialized in pushing out unpolished, half-cooked strategy concepts and leaving them to rot. The premise lures you in: a seamless blend of grand strategy empire management and Total War-style tactical battles. But both halves of this equation are utterly botched. The tactical battles are practically unplayable—the pathfinding is an absolute joke, units ignore attack orders, cavalry charges get snagged on lone trees, and your disciplined infantry lines inevitably collapse into an uncontrollable, pixelated rugby scrum. You will immediately switch to auto-resolving every single encounter just to save your sanity. On the strategic map, you run straight into one of the most baffling, anti-fun design limitations ever conceived: the 9-Knight Royal Court cap. Whether you own a three-province kingdom or have conquered the entirety of Europe, you are hard-locked to exactly nine characters to serve as generals, clerics, spies, and merchants combined. Paradox's official moderators on their CANADA department are racist. I was waiting for an apoligize but nothing happened yet. So the games which made by Paradox are done for me. Lack of update support , screen support was mess and game probably may not work on my pc after all due to unknown reasons too.

A game I loved dearly was ruined by a racist company like Paradox. Don't give this company your money. They need to apologize to Turks first.

Knights of Honor may have a nostalgic legacy, but purchasing it on Steam today is essentially buying a broken, unsupported product. Paradox Interactive has completely neglected to update this title for modern hardware, leaving buyers to wrestle with severe technical limitations just to get the game to launch. Right out of the box, the game fails to support modern widescreen resolutions natively, causing severe screen cut-offs on Windows 10 and 11. You are forced to rely on third-party community fixes just to make the UI visible. When you finally get into the game, the cracks in the outdated AI become glaringly obvious. The tactical battles—especially castle sieges—are entirely ruined by broken pathfinding. You will frequently witness entire enemy armies choking through a single gate while under fire, or getting permanently stuck on buildings while trying to reach a single unit. Additionally, the mechanics that were supposed to add depth feel incredibly barebones today. Diplomacy and court life are heavily restricted, the AI scripts are basic and prone to declaring wars at illogical times, and the province management lacks crucial quality-of-life features. very basic game. I don't know what they were thinking when they are creating this game. Just fill your board with merchants fully. when you have an enough money to build an army make it two and always attack to one. add tactical skill to camp with watch towers which gives you 125% protection :D so random. so basically with 2 army you can conquer the world and in many battles you don´t even loose a soldier? makes sense! Classic Paradox and their terrible vision!
